With a staff of 950+ and an annual budget of $140 million, Project Renewal is one of the larger social service nonprofits in New York City.\n\nTitle: Learning and Development InternProgram: Human Resources, Training & Development\nSalary Range: $25 an hour\nSchedule: Remote\nReports To: Senior Director of Training & Development\n\nOverall Responsibilities:\nJoin Project Renewal’s Learning and Development team as a paid intern and gain hands-on experience supporting the design, implementation, and evaluation of leadership development programs across the agency. The intern will help develop curricula, analyze learning data, and contribute to workforce development projects aligned with the organization’s strategic goals.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nThe essential duties of the Learning and Development Intern include, but are not limited to, the following activities:\nCurriculum Design & Development\nAssist in creating research-informed, performance-focused learning materials that support organizational goals and reflect management and leadership best practices.\nCollaborate on the design and implementation of scalable learning programs grounded in adult learning principles and relevant frameworks, including trauma-informed care, inclusion and belonging, transformational leadership, etc.\nEnsure training materials adhere to and support standard operating procedures and compliance requirements.\nWorkforce Analysis & Reporting\nParticipate in audits of training data and documentation to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.\nAssist in analyzing learner performance data and preparing reports for leadership.\nContribute to process improvements for progress monitoring and performance management.\nQualifications:\nCurrently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Education, Organizational Leadership, Human Resources, or a related field; OR demonstrated relevant experience in lieu of education.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nProficiency with online platforms and cloud-based productivity tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office).\nComfort working collaboratively, receiving feedback, and maintaining flexibility in response to changing needs and priorities.\nDetail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.\nSkills & Competencies:\nExperience with curriculum design or facilitation (academic or extracurricular).\nInterest in data analysis and process improvement.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nWorking Conditions:\nAbility to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods, with occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching during normal work activities.\nAbility to use a computer, keyboard, phone, video conferencing tools, and other standard office equipment for extended periods.\nAbility to occasionally lift and carry work materials weighing up to 10 pounds.\nThis is primarily a remote role; occasional travel to Project Renewal work locations or in-person meetings may be required based on business needs.\nDriving is not a regular requirement of this position.\nPhysical Activities:\nAbility to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods, with occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching during normal work activities.\nAbility to use a computer, keyboard, phone, video conferencing tools, and other standard office equipment for extended periods.\nAbility to occasionally lift and carry work materials weighing up to 10 pounds.\nThis is primarily a remote role; occasional travel to Project Renewal work locations or in-person meetings may be required based on business needs.\nDriving is not a regular requirement of this position.\n\nWhat You’ll Gain\nPractical experience in learning and development functions.\nMentorship from experienced professionals.\nOpportunities to contribute to real projects and make an impact on human services workforce.\nEnhanced skills in curriculum design, learning strategy, and workforce analysis.\nReasonable accommodation may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role.\nEEO Statement: \nProject Renewal provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or genetics.
