The role works closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Sales/Marketing, and Manufacturing plants to support operational excellence and capability development.\nKEY ROLE OBJECTIVES\nEnsure accurate and reliable LTC assembly, overhaul, electrical testing, and controls support for in-house operations.\nServe as a technical mentor and certified trainer for employees and customers.\nStandardize work practices, testing methods, and training materials aligned with company procedures and industry standards.\nStrengthen internal capability to support global field service, manufacturing, and customer support needs.\n\nPRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n1. In-House Technical Operations (LTC Focus)Perform assembly, disassembly, repair, and overhaul of new and existing Load Tap Changers.\nExecute and support electrical and mechanical testing, including but not limited to: Hi-Pot\nTTR\nDuctor\nMegger\n\nMaintain required clearances, dimensions, and tolerances for applicable voltage classifications.\nConduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis on LTC mechanical, electrical, and control systems.\nVerify and validate: Circuit breaker controls and alarms\nCT wiring ratios and polarity\nCCVT/PT wiring and device simulations\nLTC, fan, pump, alarm, and sudden pressure relay systems\nElectrical and mechanical safety interlocks\n\nInterpret and work from schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and control drawings.\nPerform circuit tracing, verification, and drawing mark-ups to reflect as-built or modified conditions.\nSupport oil processing knowledge and best practices related to LTC systems.\n2. Technical Training & Knowledge Transfer\nPlan, develop, and deliver technical training programs for: Internal assembly and operations teams\nEngineers and service personnel\nExternal customers at the BU Training Center\n\nDelivery training using a combination of: Classroom instruction\nHands-on demonstrations\nPractical lab exercises\nFailure analysis case studies\n\nDevelop and maintain training materials, including: Presentations\nWork instructions\nStandard operating procedures (SOPs)\nTraining manuals and job aids\n\nAssess trainee competency through: Practical evaluations\nKnowledge checks\nSkills demonstrations\n\nStandardize best practices and promote consistent execution across teams.\nAct as an internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) for LTC systems and applications.\n3. Documentation, Reporting & Continuous Improvement\nPrepare and submit: Technical reports\nTest reports\nTraining completion records\nEquipment condition assessments\n\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives related to: Safety\nQuality\nProductivity\nTraining effectiveness\n\nProvide technical input to Engineering, Quality, and Operations for design and process improvements.\n4. Cross-Functional Collaboration\nWork closely with: Operations & Manufacturing\nEngineering\nQuality\nComponents\nSales & Marketing\nTransformer plants (e.g., Goldsboro, Waukesha)\n\nSupport customer visits, audits, and technical discussions at the training center.\nRepresent company capabilities during customer demonstrations and training sessions.\nREQUIRED TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES\nThe role Diploma or GED\nMinimum 5 years of industry-specific experience in power transformers and LTC systems(Advanced post-secondary technical education may substitute experience)\n\nUtility, OEM, or service experience in Power Transmission, Distribution, or Generation\nProven technical report writing experience\nPreferred\nTechnical certification or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electromechanical disciplines\nPrior experience delivering technical training or mentoring technical staff\nExperience with multiple LTC manufacturers (minimum 3 preferred)\n\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS\nValid Driver’s License\nAbility to pass: Background check\nDrug screening\n\nCompliance with all safety, quality, and company policies\n\nKEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS\nEngineering Organization, including mechanical,
