While the DME Technician has a primary work location, travel to other clinic sites may be required as needed.\n$5,000 sign-on bonus!\nKey Duties and Responsibilities\nThe key duties and responsibilities of the DME Technician include, but are not limited to:\nBrace fitting and application\nInventory and product management, including monthly inventory counts\nClinical coordination\nPrior authorization processing\nDaily DME reporting support\nCasting and splinting assistance\nInsurance and billing coordination\nDocumentation and regulatory compliance\nPatient communication and customer service\nContributing to the development and growth of the expanding DME program\nAdhering to OSHA safety standards and HIPAA regulations\nMaintaining compliance with all company policies and procedures\nAssisting Medical Assistants with tasks including patient rooming, direct patient care, phone calls, faxing, and equipment maintenance, as applicable\nAssisting with medical supply ordering as needed\nPerforming other duties as assigned\nEducation/Experience\nCurrent Medical Assistant registration or certification in Washington State required (may be obtained upon hire)\nNATA-BOC Certified with a current WA State License strongly preferred\n1-3 years of experience using DME in a clinical setting strongly preferred; recent ATC graduates welcome\nValid driver’s license\nDesired Qualities\nAttention to detail\nProfessional patient-facing demeanor\nPersistence and follow-through\nStrong communication skills\nOrganizational skills\nIntegrity and a compliance-oriented mindset\nProblem-solving ability\nAbility to work independently\nSelf-starter mentality\nSound judgment and discernment\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities\nMaintains strict confidentiality in all aspects of work\nDemonstrates strong computer proficiency\nCommunicates effectively and clearly in written, verbal, and non-verbal forms\nConducts professional and effective phone communications\nResponds to inquiries and requests from patients, physicians, and colleagues in a timely manner\nEducates patients, family members, and coworkers clearly and effectively\nAdapts well to changes in work volume and shifting priorities\nRemains calm and effective in emergency or unforeseen situations\nManages multiple tasks simultaneously\nPrepares and maintains accurate records, writes reports, and responds to correspondence\nReads, interprets, and evaluates written and verbal information for accuracy and completeness\nApplies knowledge of medical safety practices and evaluates existing safety standards\nFollows all organizational policies and procedures\nTreats all individuals with respect and professionalism\nThe following competencies will be developed through structured on-the-job training. Employees are expected to demonstrate proficiency in each area following the completion of their training period:\nAccurately measuring functional braces, both custom and off-the-shelf (OTS)\nPresenting bracing options to physicians and guiding patients through the selection and fitting process\nCorrectly fitting off-the-shelf bracing products\nMaintaining current knowledge of bracing and DME products, technologies, and best practices\nApplying and modifying braces and DME products to meet individual patient needs\nWork Environment/Physical Demands\nThis role regularly requires:\nProlonged periods of standing\nLifting up to 50 lbs\nSquatting and kneeling\nAssembling DME items\nSitting at a computer workstation\nThe work environment/physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a teammate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
