S/he will play a key role in monthly closings and reporting key sales, cost and profitability measures to the Company’s Senior leadership team. In addition, working with the Controller, the position will participate in designing financial controls and policies, cash forecasts, helping to manage the annual audit process and developing operating plans to meet Company growth and profitability goals. The position will have exposure to many administrative functions of the business including working with our IT Partner, implementing Cyber Security Initiatives, and reviewing Capital Expenditures.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nFinancial Leadership\nResponsible for cost management including review and process upgrade to current installed system (SAGE 100 ERP & Scanco systems).\nMaintaining work center labor and overhead rates.\nMaintaining Fixed Assets\nPreparation of Business Insurance Documents\nPreparation of Censuses for Mfg and Cyber Security\nImprove summarization and understanding of root cause behind variance information.\nSupport month-end close process, journal entries, account reconciliations, financial write-ups & reporting as well as Budget, Forecast, and other reporting.\nMaintaining accuracy of sales, cost, order and backlog database (via download through Access to Excel pivot table environment).\nMaintain accurate physical inventories counts and values by implementing a cycle count program.\nAnalyze AP/AR/Labor processes to gain efficiency via process improvement and/or use of bolt-on Software\nIn addition, working with the Controller, the position will participate in:\nDeveloping internal controls and fiscal policies\nBuilding annual operating plans & forecast updates to meet Company growth and profitability goals\nMaintaining cash reporting & cash forecasts\nManaging the annual audit process\nReport to: Controller\nDirect Reports: None\nRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nAptitudes\nFinancial reporting and data analytics using MS Power BI, MS Copilot, etc\nStrong understanding of how cost systems work, maintenance required and ability to adapt information needs to system capabilities.\nStrong grounding in basic close procedures and disciplines necessary to maintain a highly reliable general ledger.\nAffinity for using technology to manage large data sets, especially using Excel Pivot table functionality.\nDesire to develop Controllership capabilities.\nA continuous improvement focus.\nEnjoy working in a small company environment.\nFosters Collaboration\nBuilds and maintains internal and external relationships that foster collaboration\nSupports a culture of teamwork throughout the organization\nCommunicates effectively\nDemonstrates Character\nOperates from a clear sense of well-developed values and standards\nRolls up his/her sleeves and is flexible in duties to match organization’s needs\nSelf-motivated with a desire to learn and attention to detail\nRequired Experience:\nThe ideal candidate will be a results-oriented financial professional with a minimum of five years of experience in a cost accounting environment or cost accounting and/or accounting roles with relevant exposure to cost systems. They have played a significant role in the monthly financial close process. Exposure to financial leadership in a small to middle-market company or relevant-sized division. Experience in manufacturing will be a requirement.\nThey will possess strong analytical and quantitative skills, as well as skills working with database information especially in Excel, MS Power BI, or similar tools. Having reworked or designed AP/AR processes to improve efficiency is desirable. Proven success in a private, dynamic, and growing company is a plus.\nThe ideal candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and show a desire to develop their leadership skills within the Company. S/he will have both the desire and the capabilities to be fully engaged with the Controller and the Management Team.\nStrong academic credentials, including a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, are required, and a CMA is preferred. This person will possess traits that align with Pride’s culture, positioning him/herself within the Company as a partner into the future.
