In this role, you’ll collaborate with both internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure user needs and business goals are seamlessly integrated into products, from early concept through final delivery.\nAs the UI/UX Lead, you’ll guide and mentor a team of designers to deliver exceptional digital experiences. You’ll foster collaboration, cultivate a positive team environment, and champion both product vision and company values while helping drive successful outcomes.\nYou’ll also play a key role in research and strategy: leading discovery efforts, documenting insights, and translating user needs into actionable design direction.\nThis is a part-time employee position (up to 20 hours per week), with hours varying based on project needs. We’re looking for a long-term team member who is passionate about leading discovery, shaping strategy, and growing with our company.\nResponsibilities\nDiscovery & Strategy\nLead client workshops and discovery sessions\n\nCollaborate with clients to understand business goals and user needs\n\nDefine technical and business requirements, delivering intuitive, user-centered solutions\n\nBuild user scenarios and strategic UX deliverables\n\nDesign & Execution\nPartner with cross-functional teams to plan and implement design solutions\n\nDevelop wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for new product ideas\n\nContinuously improve and optimize existing user interfaces\n\nTest and validate design concepts before implementation\n\nResearch & Insights\nConduct ongoing user research and usability testing\n\nDesign, execute, and evaluate studies to improve user experience\n\nDocument findings and translate insights into clear requirements and strategy\n\nTrack and analyze UX metrics to inform design decisions\n\nLeadership\nMentor, train, and support UI/UX team members\n\nPromote collaboration and design excellence across the team\n\nRequirements & Qualifications\n5+ years of experience in UI/UX design or a related role\n\nStrong portfolio demonstrating UX/UI work and process\n\nExperience leading client discovery sessions and workshops\n\nExcellent communication and presentation skills\n\nAbility to clearly articulate and defend design decisions\n\nStrong documentation and organizational skills\n\nDetail-oriented with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities\n\nDeep understanding of user-centered design, usability, and design thinking\n\nProficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat)\n\nExperience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma (preferred)\n\nFamiliarity with CMS platforms (WordPress, Drupal), HTML, and CSS\n\nExperience with Government clients is a must\n\nMust be based in the United States\n\nWhy Promet Source\nPromet Source brings together talented designers, skilled project managers, and expert developers to create digital experiences that are not only visually compelling, but also highly functional and valuable.\nWe are deeply committed to the open-source community: contributing to projects, building our own tools, and actively participating in conferences and meetups.
