This is an early-career role for someone with strong fundamentals and hands-on robotics project experience who wants to develop it in production.\nWhy join us?\nPurpose-Driven Work:Contribute to projects with significant social, economic, and environmental impact.\n\nGrowth Opportunities:Be part of a growth-stage startup with substantial upside and leadership potential.\n\nCutting-Edge Technology:Work on state-of-the-art robotics solutions at the intersection of construction and automation.\n\nCollaborative Culture:Join a diverse, high-performing team committed to continuous learning and innovation.\n\nWhat you'll do:\nBuild and maintain simulation scenes- set up and extend simulation environments and test scenarios that mirror our production cells.\n\nImplement motion routines- develop and tune motion-planning and collision-checking behaviors in ROS 2 / MoveIt2 under the guidance of senior engineers.\n\nDevelop perception components- implement object detection, pose estimation, and point-cloud processing tasks for material handling and inspection.\n\nWrite clean, tested code- produce well-documented C++ and Python, backed by unit and integration tests.\n\nDebug integration issues- help troubleshoot software-hardware issues alongside the robotics and hardware teams.\n\nParticipate in the team's practices- contribute to code reviews, agile ceremonies, and CI pipelines.\n\nWhat you'll need to succeed:\nDegree in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields (Masters/Ph.D. preferred).\nSolid programming ability in C++ and/or Python.\n\nStrong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and basic control concepts.\n\nAbility to solve complex problems involving multi-disciplinary engineering concepts.\n\nHands-on experience with ROS or ROS 2- through projects, internships, co-ops, or coursework.\n\nFamiliarity with at least one robotics simulator(Gazebo, Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, PyBullet, or similar).\n\nExposure to computer vision or perception concepts.\n\nEagerness to learn, take feedback, and work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced startup.\n\nWillingness to work onsite at our R&D labs and production facilities in Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta.\n\nPreferred Skills:\nAn internship, co-op, competition team (e.g., robotics/autonomy), or a portfolio of robotics projects.\n\nExperience with MoveIt2or another motion-planning framework.\n\nFamiliarity with Isaac Sim/ Omniverseor similar simulation tools.\n\nCoursework, research, or side projects involving VLA models, LLMs, or machine learningfor robotics.\n\nAny exposure to industrial robots (KUKA, ABB, Fanuc) or sensor systems (cameras, depth sensors, force sensors, LiDAR).\n\nDevOps basics -
