You’ll take ownership of complex technical work, contribute to architecture and technical decisions, and partner closely with Product to deliver reliable, scalable solutions. We’re looking for an experienced engineer with strong technical judgment who can take a problem from concept through production, navigate complex systems, and help raise the quality of the engineering team. You’ll have meaningful influence over how we build while remaining hands-on in the code.\nWHAT YOU'LL DO\nDesign, build, test, and maintain scalable applications, services, and APIs.\nOwn complex technical projects from design and architecture through implementation, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.\nContribute to the architecture and technical direction of our SaaS platform.\nCollaborate with Product to translate business and product needs into effective technical solutions.\nDesign and build reusable services, components, and patterns that improve the broader codebase.\nIdentify and address performance, scalability, reliability, and security challenges.\nWork across front-end, back-end, and service layers as needed to solve complex problems.\nMake thoughtful technical tradeoffs between immediate needs and long-term maintainability.\nTroubleshoot complex production issues and drive solutions to their root cause.\nProvide thoughtful code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing that helps elevate the engineering team.\nContribute to improving engineering standards, practices, and processes.\nWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR\n5-7+ years of professional software engineering experience, or equivalent experience demonstrating Senior-level scope and impact.\nA bachelor's degree in Computer Science\nSignificant experience building and maintaining production SaaS or web applications.\nStrong experience with Java and modern server-side application development.\nExperience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript and modern web application development.\nStrong experience designing and working with APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.\nExperience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including designing and working with data-intensive applications.\nExperience developing and operating applications in cloud environments.\nStrong understanding of application architecture, software design, testing, performance, scalability, security, and data protection.\nExperience with Git and modern software development practices.\nDemonstrated ability to independently solve complex technical problems and make sound technical decisions.\nStrong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across a fully remote team.\nHOW YOU WORK\nYou take ownership of complex problems and see them through from idea to production.\nYou make thoughtful technical decisions and can clearly communicate the tradeoffs behind them.\nYou’re a creative problem solver who finds practical solutions when challenges arise.\nYou care about building systems that are reliable, scalable, secure, and maintainable.\nYou balance long-term technical quality with the need to deliver value to customers.\nYou provide constructive feedback, share your knowledge, and help make the engineers around you more effective.\nYou work independently while knowing when collaboration will lead to a better outcome.\nNICE TO HAVE\nExperience working in a startup or high-growth technology environment.\nExperience building and scaling SaaS products.\nExperience with high-volume applications, messaging systems, or distributed architectures.\nExperience with communications or messaging technology.\nExperience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other engineers.\nBENEFITS\nWe believe great work starts with supporting great people.
