You will collaborate closely with Operations, Finance, Procurement, and Mechanical departments.\n\nFleet Management & Operational Readiness\nDirect full lifecycle management of 350+ operational vehicles (cars, bakkies, response vehicles, patrol units, and specialized vehicles).\n\nEnsure all fleet vehicles remain roadworthy, compliant, insured, licensed, and operational.\n\nMonitor vehicle allocation, utilization, mileage, and site availability across all operational regions.\n\nMaintain accurate fleet registers, service histories, licensing documentation, and compliance records.\n\nEnforce fleet policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and driver usage regulations.\n\nFuel Management & Cost Control\nTrack and monitor fuel usage across the entire fleet via fuel cards, telemetry, and reporting logs.\n\nDetect and address fuel abuse, inefficiencies, and usage irregularities promptly.\n\nImplement continuously monitored fuel-saving and cost-reduction initiatives.\n\nPrepare comprehensive fuel consumption, variance, and exception reports for senior management.\n\nReconcile fuel expenditure with Finance, investigating anomalies to maintain strict budget controls.\n\nMechanical Oversight & Vehicle Maintenance\nOversee all mechanical servicing, repair work, and fleet maintenance activities.\n\nEnforce prompt turnaround times on repairs to prevent operational downtime.\n\nCoordinate preventative maintenance schedules and emergency breakdown responses.\n\nAssess vehicle conditions proactively to identify units due for replacement, refurbishment, or disposal.\n\nManage relationships with internal mechanics, external workshops, dealerships, and technical service providers.\n\nSpares, Parts & Inventory Management\nDirect procurement for spares, replacement parts, and consumables for the mechanical department.\n\nManage inventory levels for service kits, parts, tyres, batteries, oils, and consumables.\n\nMaintain stock control systems to prevent shortages, over-stocking, loss, or misuse.\n\nConduct regular stock takes, physical audits, and inventory reconciliations.\n\nProcurement & Supplier Relations\nEvaluate, source, and manage vendors (workshops, parts suppliers, tyre centers, recovery services).\n\nNegotiate competitive pricing, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and repair turnaround times.\n\nAlign all procurement practices with internal governance and cost-control targets.\n\nCompliance, Risk & Reporting\nEnsure strict adherence to traffic legislation, licensing requirements, and insurance policies.\n\nOversee accident reporting, vehicle damage assessments, insurance claims, and repair workflows.\n\nInvestigate driver negligence, vehicle abuse, or repeated damages, recommending corrective action.\n\nCompile regular executive reports covering:\nFleet availability and downtime statistics\n\nFuel usage and spend trends\n\nMaintenance and repair expenditure\n\nCost-saving outcomes and ongoing initiatives\n\nTeam Supervision & Stakeholder Engagement\nSupervise fleet support staff (mechanics, clerks, and operational drivers).\n\nPartner with Operations Managers to ensure fleet readiness for deployments.\n\nLiaise with HR regarding driver compliance, training, and disciplinary proceedings.\n\nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation: Diploma or Degree in Fleet Management, Logistics, Transport Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (Advantageous).\n\nExperience: Minimum 5 years of experience in fleet management, with proven experience managing a large fleet (200+ vehicles).\n\nIndustry Focus: Experience in security, high-availability, or fast-paced operational environments is highly advantageous.\n\nTechnical Skills: Strong mechanical knowledge, experience with external workshops, parts procurement, and inventory/stock control.\n\nSystems: Proficiency in MS Excel and dedicated Fleet/Fuel Management software.\n\nLicensing: Valid Code B
