You'll be working on cutting-edge technology that's transforming the mining and heavy equipment industries, implementing robust firmware solutions for some of the most challenging environments on Earth. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with bare-metal microcontroller firmware, debugging and identifying issues with novel hardware, and ground-up implementation of firmware for circuits in a real-world environment.\nWhat you’ll do\nRead and interpret complex electrical schematics and understand the physical functionality of custom-built PCBs\nCollaborate with electrical and software engineers to develop comprehensive specifications for new hardware\nDevelop firmware for custom boards from the ground up based on schematic designs and functional requirements\nExtend and enhance existing firmware codebases to support new features and capabilities\nExamine, document, and develop interfaces for existing third-party vehicle communications systems\nImplement firmware for drive-by-wire retrofit systems on new vehicle platforms\nSupport field installations and troubleshoot hardware and firmware issues at customer sites\nWhat we’re looking for\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field is required \nStrong experience with embedded systems and real-time control applications\nProficiency with common communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, etc.)\nExperience with at least one CAN protocol (e.g. J1939 , CanOpen) or LIN is a plus\nDeep understanding of electronics and their physical operation, capabilities, and limitations\nHands-on experience with electrical hardware implementation, testing, and validation from concept through production\nExceptional debugging skills across software, firmware, and hardware domains\nExperience in interfacing with off-highway vehicles (such as dozers or skid-steers) or passenger cars is a great plus\nAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment\nWillingness to travel occasionally for field deployments\nWhy join us \nWork on real, production-deployed autonomy.\nBuild technology that directly improves safety, efficiency, and productivity.\nTackle complex challenges in demanding, real-world environments.\nBe part of a fast-moving team with high ownership and impact.\nSee your work deployed and making a difference in the field.\nCollaborate closely with experienced engineers and industry operators.\nWhat else you need to know \nThis role is based in our San Francisco office location. That’s why all of our office-based teams work onsite, five days a week. \nThe base salary range for this role is$182,000 - $230,000 per year.\nActual compensation will be determined on an individual basis and may vary depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.\nBase salary is just one part of your total rewards package.
