As we continue to grow and expand globally, we understand that hiring the right people and treating them well is key to our success!\nWe are a multi-national company with locations in 20+ countries, with each location contributing to Proofpoint’s amazing culture. This individual will be an integral part of the international accounting team focusing on the accounting of international countries and is the accounting site lead in Cork. This is a great opportunity that will allow for career growth as the Company continues to expand.\nThe ideal candidate is experienced in the accounting operations, proactive, forward thinking, a problem solver, collaborative and has strong communication skills.\nYour day-to-day\n\nOversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures for certain entities\nGeneral Ledger responsibilities including, but not limited to review and as required, preparation of monthly management reporting packages\nReview of monthly balance sheet and income statement flux variance analyses and account reconciliations for management reporting\nPrepare and review journal entries based on supporting reconciliations and schedules\nSupport in annual group financial and statutory audits\nLead and assist with implementation and adherence of SOX and other internal control compliance\nAssist with mergers/acquisitions of international entities, including integration activities, as required needed\nLead and assist in automation initiatives, process improvement projects, including coordination with cross-functional teams\nLead and assist with the implementation of new accounting policies\nLiaising with key stakeholders and business partners\nWhat You Bring to the Team\nQualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with 4+ yrs proven post qualification experience (PQE) working in a similar role\nExperience in general accounting in industry and/or a public accounting firm as well as in international subsidiaries\nDemonstrate experience of managing end-to-end ownership of accounting close and related processes, workflows or an area of responsibility, ensuring a timely and high-quality delivery\nWorking knowledge of financial reporting standards\nStrong business acumen, financial skills and analytical abilities including proficiency in systems (e.g., D365, Omnea, Workday) and Microsoft Office\nAbility to organize and communication effectively across various mediums with varying audiences across time zones\nDetailed oriented, strong analytical, organizational and stakeholder management skills\nAbility to prioritize business needs, adapt to rapid business changes, meet tight deadlines and communicate effectively across the organization\nAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed, and evolving organization\nDesirable Experience\nExperience in international payroll a plus\nExperience of US GAAP\nundefined\nWhy Proofpoint?\nAt Proofpoint, we believe that an exceptional career experience includes a comprehensive compensation and benefits package.
