The Role
Proofpoint Engineering is looking for a Senior Program Manager to drive delivery across our cybersecurity product portfolio. In this role, you'll lead cross-functional programs that span Engineering, Product, Threat Research, and Operations - ensuring teams stay aligned, dependencies are managed, and critical products ship on time to protect millions of users worldwide.
What you'll do
Own product delivery across the full software development lifecycle - requirements, design, development, testing, and release - across both cloud and appliance-based product lines
Drive alignment across Engineering, Product, Threat Research, Operations, and Customer Support on programs that span multiple teams and timelines
Coordinate across multiple Agile teams using scaled Agile practices including aligning sprints, managing cross-team dependencies, and driving program-level delivery rhythm
Turn program complexity into clear, strategic updates for senior leadership
Lead strategic planning and end-to-end delivery for multiple programs simultaneously, balancing long-term goals with day-to-day execution
Manage cross-team dependencies, surface blockers early, and drive timely decisions to keep programs on track
Engage with senior stakeholders and executive sponsors, providing clear visibility into program status and risks
Evaluate scope changes and shifting priorities, communicating impact clearly and aligning teams on the path forward
Build and maintain proactive risk management practices across all programs
Mentor intermediate program managers and contribute to building a high-performing, collaborative team
What we're looking for
7 years of program management experience in a software or product engineering organization
Solid understanding of software development processes and the ability to engage meaningfully with engineering teams on technical delivery
Experience working with multiple Agile teams at scale - familiar with scaled Agile frameworks and cross-team coordination practices such as Scrum of Scrums
Strong influencing and relationship-building skills across engineering, product, and leadership teams
Excellent communication skills - able to present complex information clearly to audiences at all levels
Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence; proficient with dashboards and program metrics
Able to manage ambiguity and shifting priorities with a clear head and sound judgment
Nice to have
Experience with cloud SaaS delivery, appliance-based release cycles, or cybersecurity product environment
