New startups can use our hosted pre-built UIs which provide the simplest possible integration. Out of the box, our customers immediately have the same auth experience as large tech companies like Slack. As those startups grow, they can use our APIs and component libraries to pull aspects of the experience into their product.\nWe’re also working on auth for AI products and MCP servers. As agents start accessing data and taking actions on behalf of users, developers need to know which user and organization an agent represents, what it’s allowed to do, and how that access can be revoked. It’s a new version of the same problem we’ve always worked on: making powerful authorization models easy for developers to use.\nAbout the role\nFor many users, integrating with PropelAuth takes less than a day. However, for users with more complex use cases or who are migrating from a different authentication system, this process may take a bit longer and come with some feature requests along the way.\nYou will be responsible for working with customers and ensuring they get what they need to be successful. This could include building small features, updating documentation, writing tutorials, or working with product on scoping a larger feature change. The work will vary day to day - one day you might spend all day in Slack or on calls, guiding customers through integrating. The next, you may find yourself adding an additional integration.\nWe all love to learn and grow. Our leadership team has experience working with and mentoring engineers at both startups and top companies. We'll work with our hires to craft it to their interests, skill set, and long term career goals.\nResponsibilities:\nMonitor our support channels - email and Slack - and respond to customer requests promptly\nFix minor bugs or build minor features (or escalate to the appropriate team member)\nMaintain API documentation around the PropelAuth product\nWrite tutorials and technical content to assist our customers in understanding the product\nSuggest features and improvements based on patterns you observe\nWhile the hours for this role will generally be 9am-5pm in your timezone, there may be periods where you will need to be on call or work late.\nWhat we look for from you:\n3+ years engineering experience\nExperience working directly with customers\nExperience working independently on small teams\nExcellent written communication skills\nUser empathy\nAbility to move quickly, but carefully\nExperience with authentication or security appreciated but not required\nWorking With Us:\nWe're a remote-first team, spread over the US.
