You'll work on high-traffic, consumer-facing products, from the Next.js web experience to the services behind it, where latency, reliability and cost efficiency directly shape the experience of millions of buyers, renters and agents.\nThis is a hands-on senior role. You'll design and own features and services end to end across frontend and backend, influence architecture beyond your immediate squad, and raise the engineering bar for the people around you.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, build and operate the web experiences and backend services that power core marketplace experiences\n\nOwn your work end to end across the stack: technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, observability, and iteration based on production data\n\nBuild fast, accessible and SEO-friendly user-facing features in React and Next.js, using the right rendering and caching strategy for each page (SSR, static generation, client-side)\n\nBuild new services and features primarily in TypeScript (Node.js), while supporting and evolving our existing Go services\n\nWork with product managers, designers and mobile engineers to turn requirements into well-architected, maintainable systems and polished user experiences\n\nDrive operational excellence on both server and client: monitoring, alerting, real-user monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement of reliability and performance\n\nMentor other engineers, review designs and pull requests thoroughly, and contribute to frontend and backend standards and best practices\n\nDesired Experience\n6+ years of software engineering experience across frontend and backend, with significant time on high-traffic, consumer-facing systems\n\nStrong proficiency in TypeScript on both the backend (Node.js), which is the primary language for all new services and features, and the frontend Strong production experience with React and Next.js, including server-side rendering, data fetching and caching, and web performance (Core Web Vitals)\n\nWorking proficiency in Go, or the ability to ramp up quickly.\n\nOur existing production services are written in Go, and you'll maintain and evolve them alongside new development Solid experience designing and operating microservices: API design (REST/gRPC), service boundaries, versioning, and inter-service communication patterns Production experience with AWS (ECS/EKS, Lambda, SQS/SNS, CloudFront, RDS, ElastiCache or equivalents) and containerised deployments on Kubernetes\n\nHands-on experience with data stores and search: relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL), OpenSearch/Elasticsearch and Redis, including schema design, indexing strategy and query performance tuning\n\nExperience with event-driven architectures and asynchronous processing (Kafka, SQS or similar) Strong grounding in observability and reliability: metrics, structured logging, distributed tracing, SLOs and incident management\n\nNice to have\nExperience integrating AI/LLM-backed features into production services (e.g. AWS Bedrock, prompt-serving infrastructure, latency and cost optimisation for model calls)\n\nExperience with edge computing (Lambda@Edge, CDN-level logic) and multi-region considerations\n\nExperience with frontend tooling at scale: monorepos (e.g. Turborepo), design systems, and frontend testing (Jest, Playwright) Experience with SEO-critical web applications, internationalisation and right-to-left (Arabic) layouts\n\nExposure to billing/subscription systems, identity platforms, or geospatial/location data Experience in marketplace, classifieds, or other two-sided platform products\n\nHow You Work\nYou take ownership beyond your ticket: you notice problems, propose solutions and follow through\n\nYou communicate technical trade-offs clearly to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders, and back your arguments with data\n\nYou hold a high bar in code review and design review, and you make the engineers around you better\n\nYou're pragmatic: you know when to build for scale and when to ship the simple thing, and you can quantify the cost of both\n\nOur promise to talent\nAt Property Finder, we believe talent thrives in an environment where you can be your best self.
