As the department leader, the Install Manager drives craftsmanship, productivity, and customer satisfaction while supporting company growth and profitability.\n Key Responsibilities\nSupervise, mentor, and inspire a team of HVAC technicians to achieve service excellence.\nProvide ongoing technical training, coaching, and professional development.\nConduct performance evaluations and deliver constructive feedback.\nFoster a positive, safety-focused team culture centered on quality workmanship and accountability.\nEnsure proper staffing, onboarding, and crew readiness for daily installations.\nOversee daily install scheduling, crew assignments, and job execution.\nEnsure all installations are completed efficiently, on schedule, and according to scope.\nCoordinate with sales, service, and warehouse teams to ensure accurate job readiness and material availability.\nReview job estimates, load calculations, system designs, and installation plans for accuracy and feasibility.\nMonitor labor hours, job costs, and productivity to maximize profitability.\nTrack and report departmental performance metrics, including completion rates, callbacks, and margins.\nManage the install department budget, tools, vehicles, and equipment.\nEnsure all HVAC installations meet or exceed company standards, manufacturer specifications, and local/state codes.\nPerform job site inspections and post-install quality checks.\nMinimize callbacks, warranty issues, and rework through proactive quality management.\nResolve technical challenges and field issues quickly and effectively.\nMaintain thorough documentation for installations, permits, and inspections.\nServe as the escalation point for installation-related customer concerns.\nEnsure clear communication with homeowners before, during, and after installation.\nConduct post-install follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction and system performance.\nSupport handoffs to the service department for ongoing maintenance and support.\nEnforce OSHA, company, and jobsite safety standards at all times.\nConduct regular safety meetings and training.\nEnsure proper use of PPE, tools, and equipment.\nPromote a culture of safety and accountability across all install crews.\n Qualifications\n5+ years of HVAC installation experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role.\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required; Associate Degree in HVAC or related field preferred.\nStrong knowledge of residential HVAC installations, including ductwork, system design, and equipment setup.\nProven ability to lead, coach, and develop install teams.\nStrong organizational, time-management, and communication skills.\nAbility to read blueprints, schematics, and installation specifications.\nDetail-oriented with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.\nExperience with HVAC software and business tools (e.g., ServiceTitan, Microsoft Office).\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments, including attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and varied weather conditions.\nRequired HVAC certifications (EPA Certification required; NATE Installation Certification preferred).\nValid driver’s license with a clean driving record\n Benefits\nCompetitive salary with performance-based incentives\nMedical, dental, vision, and life insurance\nPaid time off and company holidays\nCompany vehicle and tools (for qualified candidates)\nOngoing training and career advancement opportunities\nSupportive and team-oriented work environment\n Work Environment\nWorks in field environments across residential job sites, climbing ladders and navigating uneven surfaces.
