This is a senior, high-accountability position for a technically strong accounting professional who thrives on ownership, operates with precision, and brings order and structure to complex financial environments.\nThe Corporate Controller will lead a team of accounting professionals, partner closely with the CFO and executive leadership, and ensure that all financial operations meet the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and internal control. This role is for a builder and operator: someone who can both execute the technical work and scale the systems around it.\nYou’ll be expected to drive change, even when there’s resistance. That means leading system implementations, rolling out new processes, building automations, tightening controls, and ensuring audit readiness. You won’t just maintain what exists - you’ll fix what’s broken and raise the bar.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nClient & Team Management\nServe as a trusted financial advisor to leadership, bringing clarity and confidence to financial decision-making\nOversee and manage a team of accountants, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and compliance\nProvide problem-solving expertise, addressing complex financial challenges and streamlining processes\nFinancial Reporting & Close Management\nOwn the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process - establishing timelines, enforcing deadlines, and delivering financials on schedule\nReview and analyze financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements) in full compliance with US GAAP\nEnsure completeness and accuracy of all journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules\nImplement and enforce internal controls to safeguard financial integrity\nLead the preparation of board-level and executive financial reporting packages\nCoordinate with external auditors and manage the annual audit process from end to end\nTechnical Accounting & Compliance\nApply and interpret US GAAP standards across all areas of the business, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, and equity compensation\nMonitor emerging accounting guidance and assess its impact on company financials\nMaintain technical accounting memos and position papers to document significant estimates and judgments\nEnsure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax reporting obligations in coordination with external tax advisors\nInternal Controls & Audit Readiness\nDesign, implement, and maintain a strong internal control environment across all financial processes\nIdentify control gaps, remediate deficiencies, and ensure ongoing audit readiness\nDevelop and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and delegation of authority frameworks\nMaintain a strong control environment and support the company’s readiness for growth, audit, or future regulatory requirements\nAccounting Operations & Software Proficiency\nManage and oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger functions\nLeverage SAGE Intacct and QuickBooks Online for financial management, reporting, and process automation\nLead SAGE Intacct implementation projects, ensuring seamless integration and optimization of accounting processes (preferred but not required)\nTeam Leadership & Development\nLead, manage, and develop a team of accounting staff including senior accountants and accounting managers\nSet clear performance expectations, provide direct coaching, and build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement\nRecruit, onboard, and retain high-performing accounting talent\nProject Management & Process Improvement\nOversee accounting-related projects, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met on time\nIdentify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements, optimizing accounting workflows and reporting structures\nLead ERP system implementations and optimization initiatives\nCollaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, operations, and IT to ensure financial data integrity and system integration\nStrategic Finance Partnership\nServe as a key finance partner to the CFO and executive leadership, providing clear financial analysis to support strategic decision-making\nSupport budgeting and forecasting processes by ensuring alignment with actuals and delivering variance analysis\nEvaluate and advise on accounting implications of business transactions, contracts, and strategic initiatives\nQUALIFICATIONS\nRequired\n8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role\nDeep knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls\nProven experience managing a full accounting close cycle and a team of accounting professionals\nProficiency with SAGE Intacct and/or QuickBooks Online\nExcellent problem-solving and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and develop a team\nStrong project management skills, with experience leading financial initiatives and process improvements\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software\nExceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial data clearly to senior leadership\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field\nAbility to work effectively in a fully remote environment, maintaining high responsiveness and professionalism in client-facing interactions\nPreferred\nExperience in a multi-entity, multi-currency, or consolidation environment\nHands-on SAGE Intacct implementation experience\nExposure to private equity-backed or high-growth environments\nExperience preparing for or managing through an external audit\nIDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE\nThis role is for a Controller who moves fast, owns outcomes, and demands precision.
