The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, a good understanding of literacy development, and the ability to work effectively with pupils, teachers, and parents.\nMain Purpose of the job:\nThe post holder will provide additional literacy support that helps pupils overcome barriers to learning, improve their confidence, and make measurable progress in reading and writing so they can access the wider curriculum successfully.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDeliver planned literacy intervention programmes to individuals or small groups of pupils.\nSupport pupils who are working below age-related expectations in reading and writing.\nAssist teachers in assessing pupils' literacy progress and identifying areas for development.\nMonitor, record, and report on pupil progress.\nEncourage pupil engagement, confidence, and independence in learning.\nPrepare learning resources and intervention materials.\nWork closely with teachers, SEND staff, and parents to support pupils' achievement.\nPromote safeguarding, equality, and inclusion at all times.\nWhat you will bring to the role:\nA good level of English and maths proficiency\nExperience working with children of a relevant age\nAbility to relate to children and adults\nAn understanding of the principles of Child Development and learning processes\nAbility to understand the National Curriculum and other basic learning programs/strategic processes and barriers to learning, including behaviour management strategies would be advantageous\nDemonstrable commitment to maintaining and developing professional knowledge and skills\nTact and diplomacy in interpersonal relationships with all stakeholders\nAll school staff are expected to share the Trust’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
