Summary\n\nThe successful candidate will develop reliable, secure, scalable, and high-performing applications, maintain existing systems, troubleshoot technical issues, and collaborate with relevant teams to deliver quality software solutions aligned with business requirements.\nThe Senior Backend Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing robust backend applications and database systems.\nThe role requires strong hands-on expertise in C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, .NET Core, Blazor Web App, ASP.NET Web Forms, and Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL).\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nBackend Development and Application Engineering:\n\nBuild and maintain web applications using Blazor Web App and ASP.NET Web Forms.\nIdentify opportunities to improve application architecture, code quality, and system efficiency.\nMaintain and enhance existing applications while ensuring compatibility, reliability, and performance.\nTranslate business and technical requirements into functional software solutions.\nDevelop reusable, maintainable, and efficient code in line with established coding standards and software development best practices.\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain backend applications using C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, and .NET Core.\n\nDatabase Management and Optimization:\n\nDesign, develop, maintain, and optimize databases using Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL).\nTroubleshoot database-related issues and improve query performance.\nWrite and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and database scripts.\nEnsure data integrity, consistency, security, and efficient retrieval.\nSupport database maintenance, backup, recovery, and performance monitoring in collaboration with relevant teams.\n\nApplication Maintenance and Troubleshooting:\n\nMaintain and improve legacy applications, including systems built with ASP.NET Web Forms and VB.NET.\nDocument technical issues, resolutions, system changes, and application configurations.\nImplement fixes, updates, and enhancements while minimizing disruption to business operations.\nConduct code reviews, debugging, testing, and performance optimization.\nDiagnose, investigate, and resolve complex application defects, performance issues, and system errors.\n\nSystem Integration and Performance:\n\nIdentify and address performance bottlenecks across backend services and database operations.\nDevelop and maintain application components and integrations required for effective communication between systems.\nApply appropriate security practices to protect application functionality and data.\nSupport the deployment, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of applications.\nEnsure applications are responsive, reliable, scalable, and capable of supporting business needs.\n\nTesting and Quality Assurance:\n\nDevelop and execute unit tests and other relevant technical tests to validate application functionality.\nParticipate in technical reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.\nProvide technical support during user acceptance testing and production releases where required.\nIdentify and resolve defects before deployment.\nEnsure code meets defined quality, security, maintainability, and performance standards.\n\nCollaboration and Technical Documentation:\n\nParticipate in requirements analysis, technical planning, and solution design.\nPrepare and maintain clear documentation covering application architecture, database structures, code changes, and system procedures.\nWork with frontend developers, software engineers, business analysts, quality assurance personnel, and other stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions.\nCommunicate technical issues, progress, and proposed solutions effectively.\nProvide technical guidance and support to other developers where necessary.\n\nRequirements & Qualifications\n\nBachelor’s Degree or HND in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.\nRelevant professional certifications or additional technical training will be an advantage.\nPractical experience with Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) database development and optimization.\nDemonstrable hands-on experience developing and maintaining applications using C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, and .NET Core.\nA strong track record of troubleshooting complex software issues and delivering reliable application solutions.\nExperience working with both modern .NET applications and legacy ASP.NET Web Forms systems.\nMinimum of 10 years of professional experience in backend development.\n\nRequired Technical Skills:\n\nProgramming Languages: C# and VB.NET.\nPlatforms and Technologies: Blazor Web App and ASP.NET Web Forms.\nSoftware Engineering: Object-oriented programming, debugging, testing, code optimization, application maintenance, and technical documentation.\nDatabase: Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), SQL queries, stored procedures, database design, and performance optimization.\nProblem-Solving: Ability to investigate complex technical issues and implement effective, sustainable solutions.\nFrameworks: ASP.NET and
