This role will lead the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and reliable data platforms and pipelines on AWS for clients across multiple industries.\nWhat You Can Expect\nAs a Manager, you will partner with clients to translate complex business and data requirements into practical AWS data solutions. You will lead significant data engineering workstreams, guide delivery teams, and remain actively involved in architecture, design, and technical decision-making. You promote a positive team culture with accountability, collaboration, and open communication. \nYou are motivated to learn and stay current with AWS data engineering trends and services. \nYou can identify practical opportunities to improve data reliability, accessibility, performance, and cost. \nWhat Success Looks Like in the First Year\nSuccessfully leads architecture and delivery outcomes for multiple significant AWS data engineering engagements. \nBecomes a trusted advisor to client data, analytics, and technology leaders. \nConsistently converts ambiguous requirements into implementable data architectures, backlogs, and delivery plans. \nImproves the quality and consistency of data engineering through reusable standards, patterns, and accelerators. \nDevelops team capability through coaching, technical reviews, and knowledge sharing. \nHelps create well-scoped follow-on work that addresses client data needs and produces measurable outcomes. \nDo Your Talents Include the Following?\nSkills Required: \nData ingestion from diverse formats (parquet, Excel, CSV, EDI, email attachments, PDF) \nETL pipeline design (AWS Glue, Lambda, or Step Functions) \nSQL and data modeling (building the agent knowledge base from JDE extracts, contract records, spend data) \nData quality profiling and validation (Phase 0 scorecard deliverable) \nFamiliarity with procurement data structures (PO lines, item master, vendor master, contract terms) - can learn on the job but needs to be comfortable with messy enterprise data \nS3, Athena, or DuckDB for ad-hoc analysis \nAbility to produce clean export files (JDE import format, Oracle FBDI) \nStrong experience designing and implementing enterprise data platforms and pipelines on AWS. \nHands-on expertise with core AWS data services such as S3, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, Athena, and Redshift. \nExperience with one or more large-scale or streaming technologies such as EMR, Spark or PySpark, Kinesis, or managed Kafka. \nAdvanced SQL skills and strong experience with data modeling, query optimization, and data warehouse or lakehouse concepts. \nProficiency in Python or a comparable programming language used for data engineering. \nExperience ingesting data from diverse enterprise sources and formats, including databases, APIs, SaaS platforms, flat files, and unstructured content. \nExperience implementing data quality, observability, reconciliation, metadata, cataloging, lineage, and governance controls. \nKnowledge of AWS security concepts relevant to data platforms, including IAM, encryption, network access, secrets management, and least-privilege design. \nExperience with source control, CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructure as code, and production deployment practices for data solutions. \nAbility to produce clean outbound files and integrations for enterprise applications such as JDE or Oracle, including Oracle FBDI where applicable. \nExperience leading complex technical engagements involving multiple data sources, workstreams, or engineering teams. \nAbility to estimate, plan, and structure data engineering engagements and manage technical risks and dependencies. \nStrong client advisory, facilitation, executive communication, and stakeholder-management skills. Experience in consulting, professional services, or systems integration is highly preferred. \nFamiliarity with procurement data structures such as purchase-order lines, item masters, vendor masters, spend data, and contract terms is helpful but not required. \nYour Educational and Professional Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., MIS, IS, Comp Sci., etc.). \n5+ years working in professional services or industry. \nProfessional Certification \nRequired: AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate \nPreferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional & AWS Certified Security - Specialty \nOur Hybrid Workplace\nProtiviti practices a hybrid model, which is a combination of working in person with a purpose and working remotely. Placement in the range is dependent upon experience, skills and geographic work location. Below is the salary range for this job.\n$125,000.00 - $200,000.00Our annual bonus plan provides eligible employees additional cash and/or discretionary stock compensation opportunities. We offer eligible employees a company 401(k) savings and investment plan with an employer match of 50% on the first 6% of your contributions.
