work closely with Product, CX, Engineering, and Languages teams to improve multilingual understanding, intent recognition, response quality, retrieval systems, and AI agent performance across voice and chat experiences.\nThis role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on experimentation, model optimization, and turning AI research into production-ready solutions.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nDevelop and improve ML pipelines for conversational AI systems\nFine-tune and evaluate large language models (LLMs)\nBuild multilingual ML capabilities for low-resource languages\nWork on intent classification, entity extraction, semantic search, summarization, and retrieval systems\nImprove AI response quality, latency, and accuracy\nCollaborate with CX and Product teams to analyze user conversations and improve AI behavior\nDesign prompt engineering and RAG workflows\nWork with speech-to-text and text-to-speech integrations when needed\nCreate evaluation metrics and benchmarking processes for AI performance\nSupport deployment and monitoring of ML models in production environments\nResearch new ML approaches and recommend improvements to Proto's AI stack\nQUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Linguistics, or related field\nStrong understanding of NLP concepts and machine learning fundamentals\nExperience with Python and NLP frameworks such as:\nHugging Face\nspaCy\nNLTK\nLangChain\nLlamaIndex\n\nExperience working with LLMs and prompt engineering\nFamiliarity with vector databases and semantic retrieval systems\nExperience handling structured and unstructured datasets\nUnderstanding of APIs, integrations, and cloud environments\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\nAbility to work independently in a remote and fast-paced environment\nApplicants must be based in Karachi, Pakistan.\nNICE TO HAVE\nExperience with multilingual or low-resource language models\nExperience in voice AI or conversational AI platforms\nKnowledge of speech technologies (ASR/TTS)\nFamiliarity with RAG architecture and AI agent workflows\nExperience deploying models using Docker or Kubernetes\nExposure to healthcare, fintech, or government AI
