You will work in a lean, remote-first team where good ideas quickly become live code in production.\nWhat you will do\nOwn end-to-end product development, bridging customer needs, UX design, and robust backend/frontend implementation.\n\nTurn complex AI capability into intuitive products and interfaces that make AI agent deployment seamless for every target usecase.\n\nDevelop user-facing web applications, workflow builders, dashboards, and APIs for Proto's AI agent platform.\n\nUse AI to design, debug, implement, and ship code faster.\n\nCollaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, client support, and core engineering teams to iterate on product features based on user feedback.\n\nMaintain high software standards for reliability, accessibility, security, and maintainability across the entire stack.\n\nWhat you bring\n3+ years of professional experience as a Product Engineer, Full Stack Engineer, or Software Engineer building user-facing web applications.\n\nStrong proficiency in modern frontend frameworks (React, TypeScript) and backend technologies (Python, FastAPI, Node.js).\n\nProven track record of taking product features from ideation to launch, with a focus on user experience, performance, and scalability.\n\nAbility to translate ambiguous client needs and requirements into strategic plans for deliverables.\n\nStrong data-driven mindset and experience implementing analytics, telemetry, and user feedback loops to improve each product usecase.\n\nA habit of using modern AI tools and agents to boost productivity and code quality.\n\nConsider production impact, hardware concerns, scalability, and logical simplicity when writing code and designing solutions.\n\nTechnical & Product Capabilities\nExperience with relational databases, RESTful APIs, and modern web application architecture.\n\nFamiliarity with Cloud platforms (AWS), containerization (Docker), and CI/CD pipelines.\n\nUnderstanding of product analytics, usability principles, and design systems.\n\nNice to have\nExperience integrating LLM APIs, prompt engineering, or AI agent frameworks into user workflows.\n\nBackground in SaaS product development, developer platforms, or no-code/low-code interface builders.\n\nExperience designing for emerging markets or multilingual multi-channel platforms (WhatsApp, SMS, Voice, Web chat).\n\nWhy Proto\nProto is a Canadian-registered AI communication platform company deploying AI agents for governments, regulators, and private sector organisations across emerging markets.
