If you bring strong technical expertise in Python, a passion for engineering excellence, and the ability to translate business challenges into impactful technology solutions, we'd love to hear from you!\nWhat You'll Do:\nBuild and lead the Marketplace Operations engineering team in India, including hiring, onboarding, mentoring and developing engineers.\nDefine the team's technical direction, lead architecture and design decisions, and contribute hands-on to development when required.\nDrive the reliability, scalability and operational health of marketplace systems through effective incident management, observability and continuous improvement.\nLead the gradual migration of marketplace capabilities from the legacy supply monolith to independent, scalable services.\nOwn critical marketplace capabilities across the complete order lifecycle, including order allocation, supplier management, production workflows, quality control and shipment planning.\nBalance day-to-day operational priorities with long-term engineering initiatives, ensuring consistent delivery and continuous improvement.\nCollaborate closely with Product, Operations and global Engineering teams to define roadmaps, establish priorities and deliver business-critical solutions.\nEstablish engineering standards, best practices and effective ways of working to strengthen the overall backend engineering ecosystem.\nWhat It Takes:\n10+ years of experience building, developing and managing web applications and backend services in production environments.\n3+ years of experience managing engineering teams, including hiring, mentoring and developing technical talent.\nProven experience building engineering teams from the ground up or scaling existing teams significantly.\nStrong proficiency in Python, with the ability to drive technical decisions, guide architecture and contribute hands-on when needed.\nDemonstrated experience in monolith decomposition, incremental service extraction, microservices architecture and API/event contract design.\nStrong experience managing production systems, including on-call support, incident management, observability and reliability engineering.\nHands-on experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.\nExperience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure and CI/CD environments.\nExcellent communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across global teams.\nGood to Have:\nExperience working with marketplace platforms or operational systems such as finance, payments, manufacturing or quality control.\nStrong understanding of event-driven architectures and distributed systems.\nExperience with internal tooling platforms such as Retool.\nWhat's In It For You -
