We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our MP Marketplace team at Protolabs Network.\nIn this role, you will help build and enhance the technology behind our global manufacturing marketplace, developing scalable backend systems that manage the complete order lifecycle-from supplier matching and production workflows to quality control and delivery.\nIf you're passionate about solving complex engineering challenges, building reliable systems, and making a meaningful impact through technology, we'd love to hear from you!\nWhat You'll Do:\nLead End-to-End Development: Design, develop, and deliver backend features while collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex marketplace challenges.\nBuild Scalable Backend Systems: Develop robust APIs and backend services that support the complete order lifecycle, from supplier matching to final delivery.\nDrive Technical Excellence: Contribute to architectural decisions and continuously improve the performance, scalability, and reliability of our platform.\nMentor and Collaborate: Guide fellow engineers, share technical knowledge, and promote strong engineering practices within the team.\nEnhance Platform Capabilities: Work with event-driven systems and build solutions that support increasing order volumes and business requirements.\nEnsure Product Quality: Improve system quality through effective testing, monitoring, observability, and engineering best practices.\nCollaborate Across Teams: Work closely with the Backend Engineering Guild to establish standards and continuously improve backend systems.\nWhat It Takes:\n7+ years of experience developing web applications and backend services.\nStrong proficiency in Python, with experience designing, developing, testing, and monitoring production-grade systems.\nHands-on experience working with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.\nExperience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD environments.\nProven ability to lead technical projects, make architectural decisions, and mentor fellow engineers.\nExperience working in Agile environments and collaborating with Product Managers, Designers, and other stakeholders.\nExcellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.\nBonus Points If You Have:\nExperience working with marketplace platforms or operational systems.\nA strong understanding of event-driven architectures.\nFamiliarity with Angular and TypeScript.\nWhat's In It For You -
