The Health Advocate is bilingual English/Spanish and demonstrates not only linguistic competence in both languages but also cultural competency and advocacy in his/her activities. The Health Advocate takes the lead in community outreach, health education and advocacy. The Health Advocate assumes increased responsibility and acts independently (within the team framework) in the development of program strategies goals, programs, and outcomes within the overall department plan. Advocate engages community members in developing their leadership abilities. Degree from another country is valid, or work experience related to program assessment, planning, development and evaluation. \nDriving may be necessary as part of this role.
