Senior Backend Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with 5+ years of experience building scalable, low-latency, and highly reliable backend systems for high-growth B2C products.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in distributed systems, microservices, system design, performance optimisation, observability, and production reliability. Experience with search, recommendation, ranking, AI-powered product features, or data engineering is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend services using Java or Go.
• Develop reliable REST, gRPC, and GraphQL APIs.
• Design distributed systems, microservices, data models, and event-driven architectures.
• Improve system latency, throughput, availability, reliability, and infrastructure efficiency.
• Work with Kafka, Redis/Valkey, Elasticsearch, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
• Own production monitoring, incident response, root-cause analysis, performance tuning, and reliability improvements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience.

• Strong programming skills in Java or Go.
• Experience building high-scale, low-latency production systems.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Experience with Kafka, caching systems, Elasticsearch, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with AWS or GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Strong system design, debugging, testing, and end-to-end production ownership skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience in AI-powered applications, search and recommendation systems, or data engineering would be an added advantage.
