are looking for experienced Java Backend Engineers to work on backend systems powering the Subscriptions and Payments ecosystem.\nThe engineers will contribute to Fire TV In-App Purchase (IAP) capabilities and build services responsible for subscriptions, payments, entitlements and transaction processing.\nThese systems operate at significant scale and need to remain highly available, fault tolerant and performant during major traffic spikes, including live sporting events and large content releases.\nResponsibilities\nDesign and build scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.\nDevelop high-performance REST APIs and microservices.\nBuild backend capabilities for subscriptions, payments and user entitlements.\nImplement Fire TV IAP purchase and subscription workflows.\nIntegrate with app stores, payment providers and external platform APIs.\nBuild workflows covering purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds and subscription-state changes.\nDesign reliable, idempotent transaction-processing systems.\nHandle retries, failures, reconciliation and eventual consistency across distributed services.\nBuild event-driven and asynchronous workflows using messaging systems.\nDesign systems that can handle high throughput and sudden traffic spikes.\nOptimize service latency, throughput, scalability and infrastructure utilization.\nImprove observability through logging, metrics, tracing and alerting.\nTroubleshoot complex production issues across distributed services.\nParticipate in architecture reviews, code reviews and technical-design discussions.\nRequirements\nStrong programming experience with Java.\nStrong experience with Spring Boot / Spring ecosystem.\nStrong experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices.\nSolid understanding of distributed systems, concurrency and asynchronous processing.\nExperience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL/MySQL.\nExperience with NoSQL databases is desirable.\nExperience with caching technologies such as Redis.\nExperience with Kafka or similar event-streaming/messaging platforms.\nUnderstanding of transaction management, idempotency and data consistency.\nExperience with AWS or similar cloud platforms.\nFamiliarity with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.\nStrong production-debugging and performance-optimization skills.\nExperience\n7+ years of backend engineering experience.\nStrong architecture and system-design expertise.\nExperience building high-throughput, low-latency and highly available systems.\nStrong understanding of failure handling and distributed-system design.\nAbility to independently drive complex platform integrations.\nExperience mentoring engineers and reviewing
