Serving millions of users across web, mobile and connected-TV devices.\nThe role will be part of the Subscriptions and Payments engineering team and will contribute to building Fire TV In-App Purchase (IAP) capabilities, subscription journeys, entitlement workflows and platform integrations.\nYou will work on highly scalable consumer-facing systems where performance, reliability, low latency and seamless user experience are critical, particularly during high-traffic events such as live sports and major content releases.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, develop and maintain scalable full-stack applications using Java and modern web technologies.\nBuild frontend and backend capabilities supporting subscriptions, payments and entitlement management.\nDevelop responsive, performant user experiences using JavaScript/TypeScript and React or similar frameworks.\nBuild and integrate REST APIs and microservices for subscription and payment workflows.\nWork on Fire TV IAP integration, including purchases, renewals, cancellations and entitlement synchronization.\nIntegrate with external payment providers, app stores and platform APIs.\nBuild resilient systems capable of handling large traffic spikes and high concurrent usage.\nImprove application performance, availability, monitoring and reliability.\nHandle failure scenarios, retries, reconciliation and user-state consistency across distributed systems.\nCollaborate with backend, frontend, product and platform teams to deliver features end-to-end.\nWrite high-quality, maintainable and well-tested production code.\nParticipate in design reviews, code reviews and architecture discussions.\nRequirements\nStrong experience with Java, Spring Boot and RESTful services.\nStrong frontend experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML and CSS.\nExperience with React, Next.js or similar modern frontend frameworks.\nStrong understanding of microservices and distributed systems.\nExperience building high-scale consumer-facing applications.\nExperience with SQL/NoSQL databases.\nExposure to caching systems such as Redis.\nExperience with messaging/event-streaming technologies such as Kafka is preferred.\nExperience with cloud platforms such as AWS.\nFamiliarity with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD.\nGood understanding of observability, monitoring and production debugging.\nExperience\n7+ years of software engineering experience.\nStrong system-design and architecture experience.\nExperience designing systems for high concurrency, large-scale traffic and high availability.\nAbility to drive complex technical implementations end-to-end.\nExperience mentoring engineers and influencing engineering best practices.\nNote: This is a 6-month contractual role.\nBenefits\nBest-in-class salary: We hire strong talent and compensate accordingly.\nProximity Talks: Meet and learn from designers, engineers, product leaders, and AI practitioners.\nContinuous learning: Work with a world-class team and stay close to the latest in AI, engineering, and product development.\nHigh-impact work: Build AI-first systems and products used at scale by global clients.\nAbout Us\nProximity is the trusted technology, design, and consulting partner for some of the biggest Sports, Media, and Entertainment companies in the world.
