If you enjoy solving hard,\nambiguous problems, explaining complex systems simply, and building AI-first products used by\nmillions, we want to hear from you!\nKey Responsibilities:\nLead technical discovery with clients to understand business goals, existing systems and\nconstraints, and turn them into clear solution architectures.\nDesign scalable, secure and cost-efficient cloud architectures (AWS/GCP/Azure) for\nweb, mobile, TV and backend platforms.\nOwn architecture decisions across microservices, APIs, data pipelines, event-driven\nsystems and integrations with third-party platforms.\nBuild effort estimates, technical proposals and delivery roadmaps, and support pre-sales\nconversations with credible, well-reasoned solutions.\nGuide engineering teams through implementation, reviewing designs and code to make\nsure what’s built matches the architecture and quality bar.\nDrive non-functional excellence: performance, high availability, observability, security\nand compliance at massive scale.\nEvaluate and prototype emerging technologies, especially GenAI/LLM and agentic\nsystems, and recommend where they create real business value.\nDefine architecture standards, reusable reference architectures and best practices\nacross Proximity’s engagements.\nMentor engineers and tech leads, and contribute to knowledge-sharing through\nProximity Talks, blogs and thought leadership.\nRequirements\n12-15 years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a solutions\narchitect, technical architect or tech lead role.\nStrong hands-on background in at least one backend stack (Java/Kotlin, Go, Node.js or\nPython) and a solid grasp of frontend and mobile architectures.\nDeep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS preferred), containers and orchestration\n(Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or similar).\nProven experience designing distributed, high-traffic systems: microservices, caching,\nCDNs, queues/streams (Kafka, SQS/PubSub), and SQL/NoSQL databases.\nStrong understanding of system design trade-offs: scalability, latency, availability,\nsecurity and cost.\nExperience translating business requirements into technical solutions, writing\narchitecture documents, and producing estimates and proposals.\nExcellent communication skills, with the ability to present to both C-level stakeholders\nand engineering teams.\nAbility to break down complex problems into simple, practical solutions that serve\nbusiness needs.\nComfortable working in ambiguity and across multiple clients, time zones and priorities.\nBenefits\nBest-in-class salary: We hire strong talent and compensate accordingly.\nProximity Talks: Meet and learn from designers, engineers, product leaders, and AI practitioners.\nContinuous learning: Work with a world-class team and stay close to the latest in AI, engineering, and product development.\nHigh-impact work: Build AI-first systems and products used at scale by global clients.\n\nAbout us\nProximity is the trusted technology, design, and consulting partner for some of the biggest Sports, Media and Entertainment companies in the world!
