This position is responsible for supervising mapping staff, coordinating project workloads, maintaining quality control, and producing high-quality survey mapping deliverables for transportation, municipal, energy, and private development projects throughout New York State.\nThe ideal candidate is an experienced survey mapping professional with strong technical knowledge of NYSDOT standards and procedures, leadership abilities, and a commitment to deliver quality products on schedule.\nThe requirements we seek:\nSupervise and mentor the Survey Mapping/CAD team. \nAssign daily and weekly workloads. \nMonitor staff productivity and project schedules. \nCoordinate staffing needs with the Survey Manager. \nTrain and develop junior mapping personnel. \nConduct quality reviews prior to project delivery.\nPrepare and oversee the production of survey mapping deliverables, including existing conditions, topographic, boundary, ALTA/NSPS land title, right-of-way, acquisition, appropriation, and as-built surveys and maps.\nManage the development of highway boundary plans, control reports, survey base mapping, utility mapping, and construction stakeout base files to support planning, design, construction, and land acquisition projects.\nMinimum 7 years of survey mapping experience and minimum 3 years supervising technical staff preferred. \nStrong understanding of New York State surveying practices and preparing NYSDOT survey deliverables. \nStrong understanding of coordinate systems and survey computations. \nExcellent organizational skills. \nAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously. \nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nTechnical Responsibilities\nProcess field survey data\nDevelop survey databases \nPerform coordinate geometry calculations\nProcess GNSS and Total Station observations\nPrepare Digital Terrain Models and surface models\nCreate cross sections and profiles\nProduce final PDF and CAD deliverables\nMaintain survey and drafting standards\nAssist with drone and laser scanning data integration\nPreferred Qualifications\nAssociate's or Bachelor's Degree in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related field. \nCST Certification. \nFAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (preferred). \nExperience with LiDAR and Reality Capture workflows. \nFamiliarity with ProjectWise and FileCamp. \nSoftware Experience in MicroStation V8i, OpenRoads Designer, Bentley InRoads, Carlson Survey, Trimble Business Center and Trimble Access, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Leica Register360 and Microsoft Office Suite\nWhat we offer:\nHourly pay of $36.40\nMedical, dental & Vision Insurance. \n401K with company match. \nPTO plus paid holidays. \nProfessional development opportunities \nContinuing education support \nFlexible work environment \nUnlimited opportunities to advance your career.*Actual compensation may vary based on work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.","description_format":"text","description_chars":3699,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":7,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["401k plan","Flexible schedule","Professional development","Vision insurance"],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Science & Engineering","Engineering Services"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-13T07:26:41Z"},{"event":"close","at":"2026-09-21T14:38:46Z"},{"event":"reopen","at":"2026-09-23T22:20:07Z"}],"liveness":{"score":22,"band":"cold","label":"Long shot","p_open":1,"p_active":0.404,"p_room":0.55,"age_days":48,"expected_fill_days":42,"reasons":["conf:7","stale_co","win:tail"],"computed_at":"2026-09-24T05:45:00Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":72000,"is_top_pay":false},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/prudenteng-survey-mapping-supervisor","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/prudenteng-survey-mapping-supervisor.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-09-24T13:26:00Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers"}}
