We pledge to make Prudential a place where you can Connect, Grow, and Succeed.\nThe Director, Data & Integration, Chapter Lead, is a senior technology leadership role accountable for building and advancing Prudential Hong Kong's Data and Integration engineering capabilities.The role owns the technical capability, engineering standards, talent, practices and strategic direction across data platforms, data engineering, integration, APIs and related enabling technologies. The Chapter Lead will ensure that engineers deployed into business Journeys have the skills, architecture, platforms and engineering practices required to deliver secure, resilient, scalable and reusable solutions.\nWorking closely with other Chapter Leads, Journey Leads, Architecture, Information Security & Governance and business stakeholders, the role ensures that technical capabilities collectively cover the end-to-end technology landscape without unnecessary duplication or capability gaps.\nJob Responsibilities\nChapter Leadership, People & Capability Development\nLead the Data & Integration Chapter and establish a strong engineering culture centred on technical excellence, accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.\nDefine the Chapter's capability strategy, technical disciplines and skills roadmap.\nBuild succession and career pathways, identify capability gaps and determine appropriate build/buy/partner strategies.\nStrengthen internal capability and reduce inappropriate dependency on external resources\nData Technology & Engineering Leadership\nOwn and continuously evolve engineering capabilities for enterprise data platforms, data engineering, pipelines, data services and related technologies.\nEstablish standards for development, testing, deployment, observability, performance, resilience and lifecycle management.\nPromote reusable data products, engineering patterns and common capabilities across Journeys.\nPartner with relevant governance functions to enable secure, trusted and appropriately governed enterprise data.\nIntegration, API & Engineering Leadership\nProvide appropriately skilled Data & Integration engineers into multidisciplinary Journeys according to business priorities.\nMaintain Chapter accountability for technical standards, capability development and engineering excellence while resources operate within Journey teams.\nPartner with Journey Leads to balance near-term delivery with long-term technology sustainability.\nWork with other Chapter Leads to identify and close capability gaps and avoid overlaps across the technology organisation.\nIntegration, API & Engineering LeadershipProvide appropriately skilled Data & Integration engineers into multidisciplinary Journeys according to business priorities.\nMaintain Chapter accountability for technical standards, capability development and engineering excellence while resources operate within Journey teams.\nPartner with Journey Leads to balance near-term delivery with long-term technology sustainability.\nWork with other Chapter Leads to identify and close capability gaps and avoid overlaps across the technology organisation.\n\n Architecture, Modernisation & Technical Debt\nPartner with Architecture to translate enterprise technology strategy into executable engineering standards and patterns.\nInfluence the evolution of the target Data & Integration architecture.\nDrive simplification, standardisation and reuse while progressively addressing legacy technologies, technical debt, duplication and architectural bottlenecks.\nEnsure modernisation protects the operational resilience of critical services.\n\n Technology Governance, Risk, Security & Resilience\nEnsure Data & Integration technology and engineering practices align with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, information security, privacy, operational resilience and technology risk requirements.\nEmbed resilience, recoverability and observability into engineering practices.\nProactively manage technology obsolescence, technical debt and key technology risks within the Chapter's scope.\n\n AI & Future Data EnablementEnsure Data & Integration capabilities evolve to support AI, GenAI, advanced analytics and emerging digital use cases.\nStrengthen the foundations needed to make enterprise data trusted, reusable and appropriately accessible to AI-enabled solutions.\nPartner with AI, Architecture, Security and Governance capabilities to develop appropriate engineering patterns and introduce AI-assisted engineering practices where they improve productivity and quality.\n\nJob Requirements\nUniversity Graduate and above from Information Technology discipline\n10+ years in enterprise technology, architecture, or large-scale digital transformation\nSenior technology leadership experience within insurance, banking or financial services.\nExperience operating within an Agile, product, platform, Journey/Chapter or comparable capability-based operating model.\nExperience establishing modern enterprise data platforms and/or API ecosystems.\nPractical understanding of enterprise data requirements for AI, GenAI and advanced analytics.\nExperience with cloud and hybrid technology environments.\nExperience managing significant technology transformation and legacy modernisation\nFluent in Cantonese and English\nPrudential is an equal opportunity employer.
