We pledge to make Prudential a place where you can Connect, Grow, and Succeed.\nOverview\nWe are seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Engineering Lead who is responsible guiding the technical direction of the team, ensuring high standards of software quality and guiding technical team members to reach their potential. This role involves a mix of platform engineering and design, hand-on development, solution architecture and leadership responsibilities.\nJob Responsibilities\nDefine and drive technical vision, strategy and roadmap in alignment with organisational goals.\n\nOversee technical aspect of initiatives including system design, CI/CD, testing and release pipeline, deployment.\n\nHand on responsibility to design and implement application frameworks/platform and common/reusable functionality.\n\nLead technical evaluation of vendor platforms.\n\nWork with both vendor and internal delivery teams to drive business solutions and deliver technical excellence.\n\nDefine and enforce engineering best practices, including coding/implementation standards, testing and DevOps practices.\n\nMake critical architectural and technical decisions to ensure scalability, reliability and maintainability.\n\nCreate and maintain architecture and high-level design documentation.\n\nDrive solution approval with Group Solution Review Committee.\n\nProvide technical guidance to resolve challenging technical issues.\n\nStay current with technologies and best practices and drive innovation through technology thought leadership.\n\nLead efforts in automation, deployment and monitoring to ensure efficient, high-quality releases.\n\nExperience and Qualification\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.\n\n~ 5 years of experience within financial services.\n\n~ 12 years of experience in development and 5 years in a senior engineering role.\n\nStrong experience leading full stack development\n\nGood understanding of DevOps pipeline e.g. CI/CD, containerisation, test automation, automated deployment.\n\nGood understanding of Agile principles\n\nRisk, Compliance and Audit Domain Knowledge is a plus.\n\nTechnologies and Tools\nDeep understanding of end to end Application Technology Stack including:\nWeb Technologies (e.g. ReactJS, Javascript, HTML etc)\n\nBackend Services (e.g. Java, Python, Spring, BPMS etc)\n\nIntegration Services (e.g. REST API, Kafka, MQ etc)\n\nDatabases and Reporting (e.g. Postgres, MS SQL, Spark, Power BI etc)\n\nApplication Security (e.g. SAML, OAuth2, data at rest and data in transit security etc)\n\nExperience in Cloud architecture (SaaS/PaaS/IaaS).\n\nGood understanding of DevOps pipelines\n\nFamiliarity with Architecture/Design Diagramming tools\n\nPrudential is an equal opportunity employer.
