Acting as both a subject matter expert and trusted advisor, you will ensure compliance with HSE standards, promote continuous improvement, and support leaders in building a strong and sustainable safety culture.\nKey responsibilities include:\nMaintaining and improving HSE Management Systems in line with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.\nEnsuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and company HSE requirements.\nLeading risk assessments and implementing preventive and corrective actions to reduce workplace risks.\nMonitoring HSE performance through leading and lagging indicators and driving continuous improvement initiatives.\nManaging incident reporting, investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective actions.\nInfluencing and supporting leadership teams to integrate safety into everyday decision-making.\nPromoting employee engagement, hazard reporting, stop-work authority, and a proactive safety culture.\nRepresenting the site during audits, inspections, and interactions with external authorities.\nLeading, mentoring, and developing the site HSE team while partnering closely with operational leaders, employee representatives, and other stakeholders.\nSupporting the deployment of Group HSE strategy and participating in local and cross-site HSE projects.\nYour Experience\nTo succeed in this role, you will be an experienced HSE professional with a strong technical background and a passion for creating safe, compliant, and high-performing workplaces.\nYou will bring:\nA degree in Engineering or another relevant technical discipline.\nA recognized Health & Safety qualification, ideally NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.\nHSE Internal Auditor certification and experience managing audits and compliance programs.\nProven experience in Health, Safety, and Environmental management within a manufacturing or industrial environment.\nStrong knowledge of HSE legislation, risk management, incident investigation methodologies, and management systems standards.\nExperience leading HSE teams and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization.\nExcellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.\nThe ability to challenge constructively, influence leadership decisions, and effectively balance safety and operational priorities.\nStrong planning and organizational capabilities, with a continuous improvement mindset.\nFluent English, with the ability to communicate effectively across cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.\nLocation details\nThis role is based in our offices near the Eastleigh town centre. The address is Prysmian Cables & Systems Limited, Chickenhall Lane, Eastleigh, SO50 6YU. There are good transport links to Eastleigh and the site is approximately 15 minutes walk from the railway station.
