Let’s take a closer look at the role.\n Key Responsibilities\nFleet Operations - Coordinate daily driver schedules, routes, and remote shuttling.\nPartner with warehouse leadership to ensure fleet availability.\nMonitor driver performance, HOS, and route efficiency.\nResolve operational and delivery issues.\nMaintenance & Compliance - Ensure DOT, FMCSA, and HOS compliance.\nCoordinate preventative maintenance and repairs.\nReview DVIRs and maintain compliance records.\nManage Samsara implementation and fleet monitoring.\nBudget & Cost Control - Monitor maintenance, fuel, vendor, and fleet expenses.\nTrack cost-per-mile and asset utilization.\nIdentify cost-saving opportunities.\nManage flex labor and Uber bids based on business needs.\nDriver Management - Recruit, hire, onboard, and train drivers.\nMaintain driver records in Lytx and McLeod.\nMonitor performance and conduct reviews.\nProvide coaching and corrective action as needed.\nPerformance & Improvement- Track operational KPIs and fleet performance.\nIdentify opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, and costs.\nResolve issues and support continuous operational improvement.\nWork Environment\nPrimarily an operational environment supporting commercial drivers, warehouse operations, and fleet assets.\nRegular interaction with drivers, warehouse leadership, maintenance providers, vendors, and other operational partners.\nWork includes both office/computer-based responsibilities and interaction with fleet equipment and drivers.\nMay require occasional exposure to outdoor conditions, commercial vehicles, tractors, trailers, and maintenance areas.\nFull-time position with a schedule based on operational and business needs.\nFlexibility may be required to support driver dispatch, fleet operations, maintenance, and urgent operational needs.\n Education\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required.\nAdditional education or training in transportation, logistics, fleet management, business, or a related field preferred.\nCDL preferred.\nExperience\nMinimum of 3-5 years of experience managing commercial fleets, drivers, and fleet assets.\nStrong knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and HOS regulations.\nExperience with driver dispatch, fleet maintenance, compliance, and performance management.\nExperience managing budgets, vendors, and fleet-related expenses.\nExperience with driver hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management.\nComputer/software knowledge, including Samsara, Lytx, McLeod, or comparable systems.\nKnowledge of commercial tractors, trailers, vehicle inspections, and fleet maintenance.\nPersonality Traits\nStrong leadership and communication skills.\nOrganized and detail-oriented.\nProactive problem solver.\nAble to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.\nData-driven and focused on continuous improvement.\nDependable, accountable, and safety-focused.\nCollaborative and effective at building relationships with drivers and operational teams.\n Benefits/Perks\nAccrue up to five days PTO in first year.
