Let’s take a closer look at the role.\n Key Responsibilities\nOwn assigned month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities and ensure deadlines are met.\nPrepare and review complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP.\nResearch and resolve accounting discrepancies, unusual transactions, and reconciling items.\nAnalyze consolidated and business-unit financial results, including budget-to-actual and period-over-period variances.\nSupport the preparation and distribution of accurate monthly and annual financial statements and management reports.\nComplete and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations in BlackLine and follow up on outstanding items.\nMaintain accurate fixed asset records and reconcile fixed asset activity within Lease Complete.\nPrepare property tax renditions and business license filings and ensure related payments and renewals are completed on time.\nReview and code Ramp transactions in partnership with the Payables Specialist.\nCoordinate external audit requests and prepare supporting documentation for audits and related tax returns.\nEvaluate accounting processes, recommend improvements, and assist with implementing scalable procedures and system enhancements.\nLead or support special projects and other accounting initiatives as assigned.\nServe as a resource for accounting questions and provide backup support across the Corporate Accounting and Finance team.\nWork Environment\nOffice-based professional environment located in downtown Indianapolis.\nRegular collaboration with the Controller, Corporate Accounting and Finance team, management, business partners, and external auditors.\nWork requires sustained attention to detail, organization, analysis, and adherence to financial reporting deadlines.\nEducation\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting required.\nCPA certification is preferred or considered a plus but is not required.\nExperience\n3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, including month-end close and financial reporting.\nStrong knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles, internal controls, and applicable financial regulations.\nDemonstrated experience analyzing financial data, investigating discrepancies, and communicating clear conclusions.\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills.\nExperience with BlackLine, Ramp, Lease Complete, LeaseQuery, or similar accounting and financial systems preferred.\nExperience preparing account reconciliations, journal entries, supporting schedules, financial statements, and audit documentation.\nExperience supporting budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and process improvement activities preferred.\nPersonality Traits\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.\nOrganized and able to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.\nAnalytical and capable of researching issues and developing well-supported conclusions.\nStrong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.\nClear and professional written and verbal communication skills.\nCollaborative and able to build effective working relationships across departments.\nProactive and comfortable identifying opportunities for process improvement.\nDependable and willing to provide guidance and support to colleagues.\n Benefits/Perks\nAnnual Salary \nAccrue up to five days PTO in first year.
