While this position is typically focused on specific products, product groups, or technology areas; the Business Development Engineer is also responsible for being able to understand and represent general technical aspects of all products marketed by the company.\nWorkplace Policy\nHybrid from Novi, Michigan.\nWhat To Expect (Essential Job Responsibilities)\nProduct:\nEnable design-in by providing effective technical and application support to customers.\nRecognize and define opportunities for new products or when changes to existing products are required to meet changing market needs.\nManage product specification at the responsible customers in cooperation with local sales resources and product divisions.\nTrack competitors' activities for the purpose of developing countermeasures and strategies to increase Murata’s share.\nStudy and report, utilizing marketing systems tools, the latest needs, and trends in markets and at customers to ascertain the impact to Murata. Take action to establish/maintain Murata’s industry leading market position.\nPromotion\nConduct product promotion for the assigned products at the assigned customers, in cooperation with local sales resources and product divisions, to ensure life cycle matches to customer program(s) maturity.\nIssue flash report notifications to sales concerning introduction of new product, process or factory change, and/or promotion status change of products.\nMake good use of existing sales tools and create new tools for the assigned products as well as customers.\nFacilitate easy access by related parties for use in promotion activities at customers.\nAssist Manager to position Murata as the acknowledged technical leader in North America by authoring application guides and technical papers, via cooperation with Murata Product Divisions, on mainstream topics.\nProvide product training by creating the material and delivering the training.\nMiscellaneous Job Responsibilities\nPrice:\nUnderstand the pricing strategy and profitability of the assigned products.\nAssist Manager per request on price book development.\nPlace:\nAssist Manager in activities to recognize the total demand for the assigned products at the assigned customers for the purpose of creating strategies to develop new business to increase coverage of overall market.\nSupport product promotion at Distributors including suggesting stocking plans for new products, creating technical materials for use by the distributors in promotion of the products and assisting the Distribution Group in fulfillment of their distribution strategy.\nResearch:\nResearch new market to develop new business and develop market and product road map. \nParticipate as required in Marketing Road Map (MRM) cross product group market research activity.\nAccount Management:\nSupport Technical issues and Quality Control claims: support to resolve quality claims with QC department for Murata Electronics and Japan.\nProvide price quotes to sales or Murata’s Quote center, for individual opportunity up to complete contract, based on product group policy. \nWhat Is Required (Qualifications)\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.\n1-2 years of related experience. \nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.\nAbility to demonstrate proficiency in interpersonal skills including effective collaboration and communication skills.\nWell-developed presentation skills as well as facilitation skills to work among individuals from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds.\nStrong time management skills to accomplish short and long-term assignments as well as judgment, problem-solving, and analytical skills.\nHow To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)\nCustomer-facing work experience.\n2+ years’ industry-related experience.\nFinancial, communication and project management skills.\nOther marketing & market planning knowledge.\nPrevious budgetary responsibilities.In-depth knowledge of target market industries.\nTravel\nFrequent local, domestic and infrequent international travel\nPerks\nComprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance.\nGenerous Paid Time Off including paid holidays and floating holidays.\n401(k) employer match on retirement planning.\nHybrid working schedule for eligible positions.\nTuition reimbursement on approved programs.\nFlexible and health spending accounts.\nTalent Development program.\nImagine the possibilities as a member of Murata's innovative global team.\nBe an innovator -
