It requires an in-depth understanding of current fiber optic design standards of AT&T and its Apex Practices. It also requires a working knowledge of a GIS based design support software program (ARC GIS / IQ GEO) and close coordination with site fielding staff and graphics personnel to support the final product. Typical OSP design responsibilities range from the initial determination of the pathway routing and construction alternatives based on site walkouts to final detailed design generation. The PFD engineer is fully responsible and accountable for the final design content and document generation to support the placement of the physical fiber infrastructure in the Field according to Regional and standard Practices of AT&T.\nDuties/Responsibilities:\nEvaluate, document and adhere to Client design requirements.\nSupport design team in generating detailed network drawings in GIS/IQ Geo software while supporting ongoing design needs.\nCoordinate with the fielding team on specific site visit schedules and data gathering requirements.\nCreate high level preliminary route design and facility specifics to manage fielding request instructions.\nPerform detailed OSP designs specifically adhering to Regional and General design standards provided by AT&T.\nSupport the team by participating in the mentoring of other new design team members.\nPerform design within allocated time frames.\nProvide respective lead with updates on progress and roadblocks.\nParticipate in developing process improvement concepts.\nProvide detailed design in GIS/IQ based systems.\nReview designs for quality and Optimization.\nSupport design via any jurisdiction permits Information and ROW/UE information.\nUnderstand project milestones.
