Technical Lead, Single Photon Sources Validation

Job Description

Job Title: Technical Lead, Single Photon Sources Validation. Location: Milpitas, California, United States

Responsibilities:

• Lead validation planning and define figures of merit and validation plans for cryogenic electro-optical assemblies.
• Develop algorithms for data analysis and extraction of key performance parameters;
• Lead execution of validation plans, including debugging and characterization of cryogenic electro-optical assemblies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review and provide feedback on electro-optical assembly designs.
• Help bring up laboratory cryogenic setups using light sources, detectors, switches, function generators, oscilloscopes, and related equipment.
• Validate electro-optical assembly functionality in cryogenic environments.
• Develop software scripts to automatically control measurement setups and feed data into a database.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.
• 12+ years of industry experience.
• Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional projects involving the introduction of new concepts into successful products.
• Experience with single-photon detectors and testing in cryogenic environments;
• Experience with nonlinear optical photonic integrated circuits.
• Experience using optical and electrical test equipment, including optical power meters, lasers, optical spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, arbitrary waveform generators, and vector network analyzers.
• Experience developing test methods, optimization methods, and tuning or calibration algorithms.
• Experience with quantum photonics experiments is preferred.

Benefits and Compensation:

• Bay Area base salary: $200,000 - $225,000 USD per year.
