We offer the following:\nFREE Healthcare\nHSA option\nDental\nVision\nLife Insurance\nDependent & Spouse Life Insurance\nLong Term Disability\nCritical Illness & Accident Coverage\n401K plan with company match\nReferral Bonus \nEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)\nAnnual college scholarship available for children & grandchildren of PTC employees \nTuition Reimbursement eligibility\nJob Summary:\nOversee the plant on the given shift and employees of that shift in all aspects regarding safety, quality, and production.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nInstruct and enforce general safety rules, plant rules, EEOC and OSHA standards. \nReport safety hazards to EHS coordinator, Operations manager and Plant manager. \nInvestigate and fill out accident reports and notify appropriate people of all accidents occurring during the shift.\nHas primary responsibility for quality assurance and production levels.\nSupervise assigned work shift.\nResponsible for the efficient operation of the plant.\nResponsible for the discipline, training, safety and welfare of the employees on assigned shift.\nAssign employees to jobs. Train and instruct employees in the most efficient method possible in their job procedures.\nUtilize manpower to obtain the most efficient production possible by monitoring pounds per labor hour. \nWork directly on the floor always to instruct and monitor production and SPC charts.\nEnsure that proper material, tooling, and gauges are available and on the machine before the present job is completed. \nEnsure that material flows in proper order so there is no lost machine time.\nInform Operations Manager of any inventory shortage or tooling needs.\nReport on machinery and equipment needing repair via work order system. \nReview overtime hours for employees, making sure it is distributed fairly.\nMonitor employee attendance, performance, punctuality and returns from breaks and discipline according to company policies.\nResponsible for suspensions when necessary.\nReview labor edits and edit as necessary to insure employees are paid correctly. \nReview production reports at the end of the shift.\nSuggest ways to improve production, safety and working conditions.\nCommunicate with incoming Supervisor regarding job status, any problems that occurred on the shift or special instructions that would be beneficial to the next shift.\nContinually work toward keeping wasted material to the lowest possible rate.\nPerform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.\nThe incumbent is expected to understand that all employees have a shared responsibility for the quality of products and related services provided to our customers. Duties and responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with the PTC Quality Management System and its policies, procedures, and work instructions as applicable to the job or function being performed.\nQualifications\nMinimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent and minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience.\nNumber of Direct Reports: 25-60\nJob Titles of Direct Reports: Shop employees\nSkills and Abilities:\nMust be able to communicate efficiently both verbally and written.\nMust have leadership ability.\nMust be organized.\nMust be able to adapt and implement change.\nMust understand production processes/ work instructions as necessary to supervise plant employees.\nMust be able to work independently to solve problems without close supervision.\nMust be able to produce results and achieve goals.\nMust have a sense of urgency and ability to instill in others.\nMust be proactive in approach. \nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
