You will partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, Architecture, Customer Success, and strategic customers to address complex technical challenges and improve the performance, scalability, resilience, and adoption of our enterprise software solutions.\nThis role is ideal for a recognized software engineering expert with deep expertise in enterprise software, cloud-native architectures, AI-enabled development, DevOps practices, and large-scale distributed systems. Success in this role is achieved through technical credibility, engineering expertise, and the ability to influence decisions across organizational boundaries.\nKey Responsibilities:\nTechnical Leadership & Strategy\nInfluence the long-term technical direction of ALM products and platforms through engineering expertise and real-world customer experience.\nContribute to architectural roadmaps and technology strategies across multiple engineering teams.\nAct as a trusted technical advisor on software engineering, architecture, scalability, performance, and operational excellence topics.\nInfluence product evolution through deep understanding of customer challenges, deployment patterns, and market trends.\nDrive technical discussions and facilitate alignment among engineering, architecture, product, and customer-facing teams.\nArchitecture & Engineering Excellence\nContribute to the design and evolution of highly scalable, secure, and resilient enterprise software systems.\nDrive modernization initiatives including cloud-native architectures, microservices, AI-enabled capabilities, observability, and platform scalability.\nProvide guidance and review for critical architectural and technical decisions across strategic initiatives.\nPromote solutions that meet performance, reliability, compliance, maintainability, and security requirements.\nChampion software engineering best practices, code quality, automation, testing strategies, and operational excellence.\nPerformance, Scalability & Platform Evolution\nLead investigations into complex performance, reliability, scalability, and operational challenges.\nIdentify architectural bottlenecks and recommend improvements based on technical analysis and production experience.\nInfluence the evolution of platform capabilities that improve resilience, observability, automation, and developer productivity.\nSupport large-scale enterprise deployments through expertise in distributed systems, databases, cloud infrastructure, and application performance engineering.\nDrive adoption of engineering practices that improve system operability and long-term sustainability.\nInnovation\nIdentify emerging technologies and assess their applicability to PTC's ALM portfolio.\nChampion AI-assisted engineering, automation, analytics, and modern software delivery practices.\nDrive proof-of-concepts and technical evaluations that help shape future product capabilities.\nCollaborate with customers, partners, and industry experts to understand evolving technical and business requirements.\nPromote continuous improvement and innovation across products, platforms, and engineering processes.\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nPartner closely with Product Management to align technical priorities with business objectives and customer needs.\nCollaborate with Engineering Managers, Architects, Principal Engineers, and technical specialists to support strategic initiatives.\nWork with Customer Success, Support, and Services teams to resolve complex technical challenges and identify product improvements.\nParticipate in strategic customer engagements focused on architecture, scalability, performance, and enterprise deployment topics.\nAct as a key interface between engineering organizations and strategic customers.\nMentorship & Technical Impact\nMentor senior engineers and emerging technical leaders across the organization.\nPromote best practices in software architecture, performance engineering, DevOps, and cloud-native development.\nFoster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.\nContribute to technical communities, engineering forums, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.\nServe as a recognized technical expert within the ALM organization and broader engineering community.\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.\n10+ years of professional software engineering experience.\nProven success designing, developing, and operating large-scale enterprise software platforms.\nDeep expertise in Java and modern backend development technologies.\nExtensive experience with distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and microservices.\nStrong understanding of software architecture patterns and modern engineering practices.\nExperience influencing technical strategy and architectural decisions across multiple engineering teams.\nDemonstrated expertise in performance engineering, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.\nExceptional problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.\nAbility to influence technical and business decisions through expertise and technical credibility.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nDeep familiarity with ALM, DevOps, Systems Engineering, or software delivery platforms.\nExperience with Codebeamer, Jira, Polarion, Jama, Azure DevOps, or similar solutions.\nExpertise in public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).\nExperience with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and observability platforms.\nKnowledge of AI/ML technologies and their application within enterprise software products.\nExperience building products for regulated industries such as Automotive, Aerospace, Medical Devices, or Industrial
