The Engineer is responsible for those technical and development functions to ensure PTC effectively provides quality products meeting customers’ specifications and requirements.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nSupport of plant and company manufacturing process capability improvement activities related to product and material capabilities.\nInvolvement in the front-end product realization processes, involving customer specifications, feasibility, product contract and specification review, and Oracle Item builds.\nParticipation in product and manufacturing trials in support of product development.\nCollaborative interaction with Sales, Planning, Operations, Metallurgy, and customers to properly design and manufacture products.\nCollection, analysis and report-out of data and analysis results related to product development and plant process improvements. This may require the use of statistical methods.\nDevelop reports, procedures and training materials, as needed.\nEfficiency - Plans, organizes, and schedules in an efficient, productive manner. Focuses on key priorities.\nAttention to detail - Keeps important details on track.\nAnalytical skills - Able to structure and process qualitative and quantitative data and draw insightful conclusions from it. Provide analysis to management and staff.\nFollows-through on commitments - Abides by verbal and written agreements. Duties and responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with the PTC Quality Management System and its policies, procedures, and work instructions as applicable to the job or function being performed.\nQualifications\nMinimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).\nExperience:\n2 years minimum experience in product development and/or technical services preferred. (Steel, Tubular, or Automotive industries preferred)\nSkills and Abilities:\nExperience with steelmaking, metalworking and fabricating processes preferred.\nComprehensive understanding of GD&T, ability to interpret drawings.\nFamiliarity with 2D/3D CAD. (Siemens Solid Edge or equivalent).\nAIAG & PPAP experience.\nWorking knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).\nHands-on gage usage, product inspection.\nCNC or CMM programming is a plus.\nMaterials knowledge (specifically steel metallurgy) is a plus.\nLean Six Sigma certification is a plus.\nQualification Requirements: the incumbent must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty to perform this job successfully.
