The Senior Staff Software Engineer will use their hands-on expertise in Software development to expand and optimize architecture, data flows, infrastructure, APIs, and automation to support the Epsilon PeopleCloud Platform. A successful person in this role will take ownership of the development, testing, and maintenance of several product features; enforce best practices and lead the development of new components providing insights derived from large data sets in Databricks.\nThe candidate will work across functional teams and collaborate very closely with engineering and architecture leadership to plan, develop and deploy features. Additionally, the right candidate will have strong experience in distributed architecture, and a proven track record in programming and software development including analysis, design, development, implementation, testing and maintenance.\nResponsibilities\nWhat You’ll Achieve\nCollaborate with the engineering and architecture leadership to plan for new features, architect solutions, develop API data services, and monitor and maintain platform reliability.\nResponsible for writing code and maintaining/enforcing coding standards.\nCandidate will be expected to be involved in several projects and should be comfortable multi-tasking.\nCollaborate with the team for QA automation to define test cases and help resolve code issues.\nIdentify areas of opportunity for optimization by eliminating redundancies and improving automation and operational efficiency.\nLead the engineering team during technical discussions, planning, and code review sessions.\nCollaborate with other engineers, architects, product managers and product support teams.\nLead evaluation sessions with internal/external vendors/teams to drive enhancements to systems architecture designs.\nLead communities of practice across various software engineering teams to expand the use of new and leading technologies.\nOversee, motivate and mentor a small team of developers.\nQualifications\nWho You Are\n What you’ll bring with you:\nBachelors or Masters degree in computer science or electrical engineering\n12+ years hands-on software engineering\n6+ years in a cloud deployment.\nMust have experience leading/mentoring engineering teams.\nHighly skilled in at least one programming language (Python, Java, or Scala).\nProficient understanding of cloud computing, distributed computing and scalability principles.\nMust have practical knowledge of at least one major cloud service (AWS, Azure, GCP)\nExpertise in data warehousing, data streaming, and relational databases.\nStrong understanding of SQL\nStrong knowledge of Databricks, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, Workflows, Live Tables\nGood understanding of Apache Spark\nStrong knowledge of IaC tools like Terraform or Ansible\nExperience with various CI/CD tools\nStrong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and techniques to tune software for maximum performance.\nStrong understanding of software architecture design.\nOutstanding communication skills and the ability to work well within agile scrum environment and within tight deadlines.\nExperience working with containers in Docker and Kubernetes\nExperience in Test Driven Development Practices.\nExperience working in global agile scrum teams.\nUnderstanding of AI concepts\nExperience with spec driven AI assisted development\n Experience with:\nRAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) architectures\nAgentic AI systems (tool using agents, orchestration, multi step reasoning workflows).\nWhy you might stand out from other talent:\nAny certifications with the subject matter listed above is preferred.\nAdditional Information\nWhen you join Epsilon, we’ll create something EPIC together.
