We’re looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join Epsilon’s Development Team in our Data Practice.\nIn this role with our company, you will work in a group that is not only focused on their project work but also their efficiency, compliance, standards, situational awareness, and readiness. You’ll be a critical part of a fast-moving, innovative team where you’ll work independently in some situations as well as working with a greater team in tasks that require full collaboration.\nResponsibilities\nInteracting with the project manager and client representatives to clarify business rules as outlined in the business requirements document.\nParticipates in the development, testing and maintenance of software applications under the guidance of senior engineers to implement robust high volume production applications using, Java, C++, Perl, SQL, UNIX, and various ETL tools.\nAssists in the creation of technical specifications, design documentation, and process flows.\nAdhering to production standards in all work products and participating in the refinement of those standards to improve quality and productivity\nDocumenting all work and facilitating transfer of ongoing operational responsibility to the production staff.\nFollows established coding standards, development processes, and best practices while contributing reusable code components where appropriate.\nParticipates in release retrospectives and continuous improvement activities.\nParticipates in technical design discussions and code reviews and incorporates feedback.\nCollaborates with senior engineers, business analysts, and project team members to understand requirements.\nWrites clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. Develops tests, debugs, troubleshoots and resolves software defects to support software solutions.\nLearns and applies architectural, security, and development best practices.\nEffectively manages assigned work items and priorities using Jira.\nDemonstrates a willingness to learn new technologies and development practices.\nQualifications\nB.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similarly related field.\nDependable with the ability to learn quickly, to work well individually and/or part of a team\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nProfessional exposure to web services, APIs, and data integration concepts.\nExperience with Git, Jira and modern development tools.\n1-3 years of job related experience and/or directly related college coursework in most if not all of the following areas:Application programming experience using Java, .NET, UNIX scripting, C++/C#, Python, JavaScript or SQL.\nFamiliarity with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.\nFamiliarity with prompt engineering concepts and effective AI collaboration techniques.\nExposure to AWS cloud services and cloud-native application concepts.\nFamiliarity with cloud deployment, monitoring and CI/CD practices.\nInterest in learning AWS services such as EC2, ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3 or related technologies.\nFamiliarity with multi-threaded parallel system application components.\nExperience with build and test automation tools and practice.\nExposure to building metadata driven front-end application.\nKnowledge of object-oriented programming concepts and software design principles.\n\nWhy you might stand out from other talent:\nExposure to AI-assisted software development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar coding assistants is a plus\nExposure to containerization technologies such as Docker is a plus\nExposure to cloud platforms (AWS preferred).\nClick here to view how Epsilon transforms marketing with 1 View, 1 Vision, 1 Voice.\nAdditional Information\nWhen you join Epsilon, we’ll create something EPIC together.
