The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience with MySQL, ProxySQL, and PostgreSQL, specializing in database administration, performance tuning, query optimization, high availability, backup, and archival. This role involves managing and supporting database systems, ensuring uptime, performance, and scalability for mission-critical applications.\nWhat You'll Do\nManage and maintain MySQL databases across production, QA, and development environments.\nImplement and manage MySQL Group Replication for seamless failover and redundancy.\nReview/deploy data-manipulation (DML) and data-definition (DDL) changes to support application releases.\nServe in an on-call rotation as an escalation contact for critical database production issues and drive escalation/resolution of problems.\nConduct query performance tuning, indexing strategies, and schema optimization to improve efficiency.\nSetup and maintain master-slave replication topologies for high-availability and write/read scaling.\nConfigure and maintain ProxySQL for database traffic load balancing and query routing.\nMonitor ProxySQL logs and troubleshoot database connection issues.\nLinux system administration and shell programming skills such as storage capacity management, performance tuning.\nWrite scripts using Bash/Python to automate manual administrative tasks. Monitor performance and tune databases to optimize for different workloads.\nMaintain backups and perform point-in-time restorations. Perform regular database health checks, monitoring, and capacity planning.\nRespond to P1/P2 incidents related to database downtime, performance issues, or replication failures.\nCollaborate with DevOps and Engineering teams to resolve database-related challenges.\nWe'd Love for You to Have\nMinimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in administering MySQL v8.x Servers.\nDecent knowledge of PostgreSQL is required.\nMySQL Server Installation, Upgrades, Migrations and Configuration.\nExpertise and experience with clustering solutions for High Availability.\nAdvanced knowledge on InnoDB storage engine.\nExpert knowledge of Performance Schema.\nKnowledge and expertise on GR cluster, Proxy SQL and operating systems, know how on Proxy SQL usage as it relates to MySQL.\nExperience in Disaster recovery planning and implementation.\nGood scripting skills (Bash/Python) and well-versed with Linux systems.\nUnderstand the automation concept to speed up the work: Ansible.\nKnows how to optimize queries/schema.\nDeep understanding of replication setup and replication-related issues.\nComplete understanding of backups, restores, recovery, database maintenance operations.\nExperience in Percona tools is an advantage.\nAdvanced understanding of Linux OS.\nDeep understanding of monitoring requirement to catch the related issues.\nExperience in Index/Jobs fine tuning and query optimizations.\nTroubleshoot and resolve MySQL server and replication issues of any complexity.\nPerform technical work that requires planning and scheduling to ensure the best possible solution is delivered on time.\nReact on incidents and provide solutions aiming at maintained environments' improvements.\nShould have experience & ability to work with various teams to resolve DB/architecture issues.\nWork in a fast-paced environment where we are responsible for most critical systems.\nExperience with database security, compliance, and audit logging.\nQualification:\nShould have a Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related
