Our Pods (small teams of 5 or less) are comprised of personnel with similar skillsets to ensure mentorship, understanding, and peer support.\nPueo has a Senior Accountant position in the McLean, VA office.\nRoles and Responsibilities:\nProvide comprehensive support to the accounting team across all phases of the accounting lifecycle, including daily operations, month-end close, and financial reporting, with a strong focus on compliance and accuracy in a government contracting environment. \nKey Responsibilities:\n Manage daily cash flow activities, including bank reconciliations and account monitoring.\nPerform full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. \nProcess payroll in compliance with federal, state, and contractual requirements; ensure timely and accurate quarterly and annual filings. \nLead month-end close activities, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and preparation of financial statements. \nEnsure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). \nMonitor and respond to inquiries from the accounting inbox in a timely and professional manner.\nDevelop, maintain, and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) for accounting processes.\nAssist with tax planning, preparation, and coordination of annual audits. \nReconcile time and expense entries between internal systems and partner platforms, resolving discrepancies as needed.\nManage onboarding and offboarding processes for employees and contractors within the accounting system, ensuring proper documentation and protocol adherence. \nSupport budget development, forecasting, and ongoing budget monitoring.\nOther:\nAssist in accounting needs of affiliated entities.\nSupport ad-hoc data calls\nRegister and maintain state business licenses and payroll tax accounts.\nAssist in incurred cost submission and provisional bill rates development\nRequirements\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nKnowledge:\nWorking knowledge of GAAP, FAR and DCAA compliance.\nExperience with Unanet Skills\nAdvanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial reporting tools. \nStrong communication skills. \nSelf-starter Requiring Minimal Direction \nStrong Time Management Skills\nHighly Organized. \nAbilities:\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. \nMaintain strict confidence. \nCommunicate effectively and collaborate across organizational departments.\nExcellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities\nRequired:\nCertifications: [Not applicable]\nEducation: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Finance or related field [As a substitution for a Bachelor’s degree-10 years of experience professionally practicing accounting concepts]\nOther:\nMinimum 5 Years of Experience in Accounting/Finance Role\nMinimum 2 Years of Experience in Government Contracting\nMinimum 2 Years of Experience in Payroll Processing\nUnanet Financial Experience -
