Puffco has also been listed by MG Magazine as one of the 50 best companies to work for.\nPuffcois looking for a talented contract UI/UX Designer to support our team with several key projects, eg. page build andShopify site conversion optimization. \nRole Overview \nAs a Contract UI/UX Web Designer at Puffco, you will shape how users experience our digital storefront. Your work will balance aesthetic excellence with usability and performance, directly impacting conversion and engagement. You’ll focus on creating intuitive, visually compelling web experiences-specifically for our Shopify site.\nYou will collaborate with eCommerce, marketing, and development teams to create data-driven, conversion-optimized digital experiences that reflect our brand and drive results.\nKey Responsibilities \nShopify Page Building & Site Customization \nBuild custom pages and simple modules from scratch in Shopify. \nMake design adjustments across the site, including promotional updates. \nEnsure brand consistency while adapting for seasonal campaigns and promotions. \nWork with developers to troubleshoot and implement design solutions efficiently. \nConversion Optimization & Visual Impact \nDevelop engaging, conversion-focused interfaces that enhance user engagement. \nOptimize landing pages, PDPs, and checkout flows for improved performance. \nApply persuasive design principles to improve customer experience and drive sales. \nUser-Centered & Data-Driven Design \nUse analytics tools (Google Analytics, Hotjar, Crazy Egg) to uncover user pain points and inform design decisions. \nConduct A/B tests and usability research to optimize user flows and wireframes. \nEnsure accessibility and inclusivity in all designs. \nDesign System & Development Collaboration \nMaintain Puffco’s design system for consistency across digital platforms. \nPartner with developers to implement and refine designs efficiently. \nRequirements \n3+ years in UX/UI design with a focus on data-driven decision-making. \nProficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similar design tools. \nStrong understanding of Google Analytics, Hotjar, and A/B testing. \nExperience in eCommerce UX, CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization), and persuasive design. \nHands-on Shopify experience for building and customizing pages. \nBasic knowledge of HTML/CSS \nAbility to solve complex design problems with simple, elegant solutions. \nStrong communication skills to present and defend design decisions with data-backed insights. \nThis hybrid contractor role is based out of our Los Angeles HQ and requires in office work 2-3 days per week. \nThe compensation rate for this role is $45.00/hr for candidates based in Los Angeles, CA. \nEQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY\nPuffco strongly supports equal employment opportunity for all applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, pregnancy, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, age, marital status, physical disability, mental disability, medical condition, sexual orientation, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by state or federal law.\nHIRING PRACTICES\nThe preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
