This is a backend-first role: you will build high-performance services and integrations with external providers for in-house platforms used by insurers in Poland and abroad. The platforms cover the full policy lifecycle and claims handling and process millions of operations every month. You will work in an international team with colleagues from Scandinavia, Belgium and Poland, on modules such as financial settlement, accounting, investment funds and claims. The team works in a Spec Driven Development model with AI agents, using them for specs, planning, documentation and tests. Its insurance division builds its own platforms for insurance companies in Poland and other European markets. These systems support the whole policy lifecycle, from product setup and sales to policy servicing and claims processing. They handle millions of operations a month, so performance, reliability and data accuracy really matter. The division is growing fast and is adding engineering teams in several Polish cities. Teams are international and work closely with business analysts and insurance domain experts. Engineering is moving toward structured, AI-assisted development, where AI agents support specs, planning, documentation and testing.\n\nYou have:\n\n4+ years of commercial software development experience\n\nStrong commercial experience with Java and Spring Boot in production systems (experience limited to CMS/AEM or legacy J2EE is not a fit)\n\nExperience building high-performance REST APIs\n\nExperience building integrations with external providers and third-party systems\n\nExperience with MongoDB and/or PostgreSQL\n\nOpenness to learning Angular and taking on frontend tasks over time\n\nStructured use of AI tools in development (specs, planning, tests), not only autocomplete\n\nPolish at A2 level or higher (everyday conversation), as some teams work in Polish\n\nEnglish at B2 level (team communication and technical documentation)\n\nLegal right to work in Poland (e.g. Karta Pobytu, permanent residence or EU citizenship)\n\nReadiness to work from the office in Kraków, Gdańsk, Łódź or Poznań 3 days a week\n\nNice to have:\n\nExperience in the insurance, banking or fintech domain\n\nExperience with microservices, event-driven architecture (Kafka), sagas or DDD\n\nAny
