This coupled with our commitment to our communities is what makes working at Puratos so magical.\nPacker Operator - Day Shift\nLOCATION: Chilliwack\nWAGE: $23.41per hour\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nThe primary role of the Production Packer is to provide critical support in reducing production down time, assisting Production Supervisor or Line Lead Hand in planning and supporting the production staff in a manner that creates engagement and productivity within the team.\nKey tasks\nSupports the Puratos safety and quality system by implementing and following procedures, enforcing GMP requirements, and participating in training.\nAs necessary, performs tasks in order to meet daily targets and fills in for breaks, as well as scheduled and unscheduled absences.\nAble to work unsupervised, as well as working together with others\nMust we capable of bending and or lifting 60 lbs\nRespond appropriately to emergency/unscheduled equipment issues and trouble shoot problems, making a determination if Maintenance needs to be called to address the issue.\nPractice and enforce QA, HACCP, Food Safety, and SQF 2000 requirements in all aspects of production operation.\nAssists in developing SOPs and Standard Work documentation processes and tasks for essential day-to-day operations, train to SOPs, and ensure employee adherence to SOPs when performing job responsibilities and tasks.\nActively participates in toolbox meetings with other staff.\nEnsures a respectful, safe, and healthy work environment for staff.\nAssists with positive cross-functional/departmental relationships.\nMust be capable of standing a minimum of eight hours\nFoster safe work practices by enforcing standard safety procedures and as required develop and implement practical recommendations for safety practices.\nAssist in the implementation of the company’s health and safety program.\nContribute to a continuous improvement environment by recommending measures to improve methods, performance, and quality of processes and suggest changes in working conditions to increase efficiency.\nIdentify, recommend and implement cost saving measures.\nSafe handling of chemicals, Manual and/or electrical pallet jacks\nBe a safety leader, work together with others and look out for others\nReport all quality and safety issues immediately\nPerform miscellaneous tasks as required.\n\nEducation, Skills and Experience Requirements\nHigh School Diploma (OSSD)\nMinimum of 3 years’ experience working in food manufacturing environments\nAttention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment\nCapable of lifting 50lbs on a continuous basis\nProven record of safety.\nGood attendance and punctuality.\nGood verbal and written communication skills with the proven ability to communicate one-on-one and in group settings; facilitates positive communication between supervisors and production staff.\nThis position requires proficiency with numbers/basic math\nProblem solver with good analytical skills and the ability to trouble shoot as the need arises. I.E.
