In this position, you will combine hands-on safety expertise with contributing to fire protection excellence within our Belgian operations organization. At Groot-Bijgaarden site, we offer a various work environment of production, warehousing, lab, bakery and office environment.\nKey Accountabilities\nYou lead, implement and continuously improve safety and prevention programmes to achieve world-class Safety & Health performance across our Groot-Bijgaarden site.\nYou manage and optimize fire protection systems, including detection, sprinkler, extinguishing and gas detection systems, ensuring compliance with insurance requirements and Belgian legislation.\nYou act as the regional beOps Fire Protection Expert, supporting Belgian sites, conducting audits and providing expert guidance during engineering and investment projects.\nYou perform risk assessments, incident investigations, root cause analyses and develop preventive action plans that strengthen operational safety performance.\nYou coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including emergency response plans, first intervention teams and exercises with external authorities and fire brigades.\nYou deliver impactful safety training, coach employees and stakeholders, and help foster a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.\nYou drive the safety governance of CAPEX and engineering projects, ensuring that safety-by-design principles, risk assessments and legal requirements are embedded from concept through commissioning. \nYou report results on a frequent base (monthly report, scorecard, yearly report) and definition and follow-up of action plans to maintain and further improve the site Safety & Health performance.\nWho are we looking for?\nYou hold a master’s degree or equivalent technical/scientific qualification and are a certified Prevention Advisor Level 2.\nYou bring 3-5 years of experience in Health & Safety, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.\nExperience or strong affinity with fire protection systems, fire prevention or process safety is highly valued.\nYou are a strong communicator who can influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.\nYou combine autonomy and ownership with a pragmatic, hands-on approach to problem solving.\nYou are fluent in Dutch and have a good working knowledge of French and English.\nYou are passionate about continuous improvement and motivated to make a visible impact on safety performance and employee wellbeing.\nWhy should you join Puratos?\nYou will be welcomed in a dynamic work environment where passion for innovation, team spirit and continuous improvement are key.
