Overall duties include forecasting raw material demands, purchase order generation and follow up, inventory control, effective record keeping, vendor selection, cost, and terms negotiation. This position supports the Purchasing Manager by maintaining and communicating contract information (quantity balances, timing and pricing) for various materials and purchased items. This position conducts purchasing activities in a fair and ethical manner and treats pricing and technical information submitted by suppliers as confidential. This position compiles in all respects with antitrust laws and with all other applicable laws without qualification or evasion.\nThis position will comply with all local & national food safety & legal requirements and will perform all responsibilities under the strict guidelines of food safety standards.\nWhat you will do\nEffectively react to the requirements of Production and Sales - order all materials and finished products according to the planning demands and sales forecast.\nPurchase order generation and placement for all shipments of materials, finished products, and production supplies.\nCoordination and handling of all international and intercompany orders and non-stock orders.\nArrange transportation and outside storage requirements.\nCoordinate with customs broker to ensure imported finished goods and materials arrive in a timely and cost efficient manner.\nFollow up daily on orders not received.\nMaintain adequate stock levels and re - order quantities.\nCommunicate proactively with management regarding price trends, quality, supply, material innovations and service.\nSupports the Purchasing Manager in contacting vendors for all items in ensuring the continuous supply of competitively priced quality products.\nSupports the Purchasing Manager and QA in accessing the capabilities of vendors, evaluating vendor performances and developing alternate sources.\nConduct and collaborate on periodical supplier audits \nLiase with R & D, Sales, Quality and Operations in all new product launches.\nSupport R & D in all new product launches.\nSupport Purchasing Manager in finding sources for new materials and services.\nSupports Purchasing Manager in negotiations and RFQs.\nMaintain and communicate contract information (quantity, balances, timing, and pricing) for categories as assigned - materials, finished products and services.\nMaintain a current and updated database on vendors, purchase orders and pricing. Ensure an organized filing system is maintained for effective record keeping and follow up for all aspects of the position.\nMaintain an accurate and updated Supplier list.\nMaintain accurate pricing in the SAP.\nSupport QA / QC when sub-standard quality issues arise.\nMaintain a list of supplier non-conformities. \nEnsure all tasks conducted in SAP is completed in a timely and accurate manner. Maintain all Master Data to ensure MRP runs accurately.\nCommunicate effectively with suppliers while maintaining confidentiality requirements.\nWork with Quality to effectively manage the returns process\nMaintain good housekeeping practices by keeping work area neat and organized.
