This role ensures the delivery of operational performance, product quality, equipment reliability, food safety, and continuous improvement objectives. The position is responsible for Manufacturing Operations, Maintenance & Reliability and Operational Excellence/Continuous Improvement initiatives for the factory.\nThe incumbent provides leadership to production and technical teams, develops organizational capability, and drives operational excellence through strong people leadership, preventive maintenance, continuous improvement, and a culture of accountability and safety.\nThis is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing organization focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence.\nWhat you will do\n1. Safety, Food Safety & Compliance\nChampion a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations.\nEnsure adherence to food safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements.\nLead investigations of safety incidents, near misses, and equipment failures.\nImplement corrective and preventive actions to reduce risk.\nMaintain readiness for customer, regulatory, and certification audits.\n2. Production Leadership\nLead manufacturing operations to achieve safety, quality, service, cost, and productivity objectives.\nEnsure production schedules are executed efficiently and customer requirements are met.\nMonitor and improve operational KPIs including: \nOEE\nLabour productivity\nSchedule attainment\nWaste and yield\nDowntime\nCustomer service levels\nDrive problem solving and root cause analysis activities.\nEnsure compliance with standard operating procedures and operational standards.\n3. Maintenance & Reliability Leadership\nDevelop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.\nOversee maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution.\nImprove equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.\nLead capital maintenance projects and equipment upgrades.\nEstablish asset management best practices.\nManage maintenance budgets, inventory, and contractor performance.\n4. Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles and structured problem solving.\nIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize costs.\nLead cross-functional projects focused on productivity, quality, and capacity enhancement.\nSupport implementation of digital and automation initiatives where appropriate.\nPromote a culture of operational excellence and continuous learning.\n5. Quality & Customer Focus\nPartner closely with Quality, R&D, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to ensure customer expectations are met.\nAddress quality issues promptly and effectively.\nEnsure corrective actions are implemented and sustained.\nSupport new product introductions and process improvements.\n6. Leadership & People Development\nBuild a highly engaged and accountable team culture.\nCoach, mentor, and develop supervisors and technical leaders.\nManage workforce planning and succession planning activities.\nConduct performance management and talent development processes.\nSupport labour relations activities where applicable.\nPromote employee engagement and continuous development.\n7.
