This role is responsible for ensuring productivity targets, health, quality and food safety standards meet company standards. It is the responsibility of the Production Supervisor to lead a team of workers, oversee employee issues and concerns, provide training, and manage performance.\nResponsibilities:\nProvide guidance to line leaders and production work force with respect to performance management, employee relations, awareness of business context/profitability as well as training/development of staff members\nEnsure delivery of the production goals and objectives by establishing clearly defined quality methods for staff members to apply\nSupport the Production Manager to ensure the operation remains within budget for labor and throughput; monitor and measure performance to minimize downtime, reduce costs and improve quality and efficiencies\nComplete required documentation, records and checklist; submit to appropriate management personnel\nCommunicate and address variances, quality issues and concerns with relevant departments to help identify the causes and implement sustainable corrective action\nMonitor the working environment to ensure compliance of company and statutory hygiene, and safety policies and procedures\nMaintain confidentiality of all proprietary information, as well as other company data, including personnel information\nConduct pre-shift meetings and EOS reports\nTouch bases with new employees on a weekly basis\nCollaborate with commodity, inventory, receiving, shipping and quality departments to ensure an efficient operation workflow, production requirements and reworked product consistently match product specifications\nOther core expectations as defined by the company\nQualifications:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required; degree in business administration, supply chain management, engineering or related discipline preferred\nMinimum of two (2) years’ experience in production environment or related supervisory experience required\nIntermediate level Microsoft (MS) Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills required\nKnowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Safety, Food Safety, HACCP principles\nUnderstanding of legislative requirements to maintain compliance to all relevant statues and guiding principles \nProven ability to lead and motivate a team\nExcellent analytical, time management, and organizational skills\nCommitment to high professional and ethical standards\nSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team\nAbility to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment\nAvailable to work any and all shifts required by the company\nMust be flexible to shift assignments as required to meet both customer & business needs\nWork Environment:\nHours of work may vary depending on business needs; role requires flexibility\nThis job operates within a refrigerated warehouse, where temperatures range from 45-55°F. The noise level in the work environment can be loud due to packaging machinery, and forklift truck operation\nThe employee is frequently required to stand; walk; bend; twist; use hands to handle or feel product or packaging; and reach with hands and arms; specific vision capabilities required\nRole routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
